The ride never ends, does it? Welcome to the official thread for version 1.1.6. This thread not only contains the patch notes, but also the discussion for it.

Because the only changes made in this patch are to Bayonetta, we do not feel it is necessary to have a separate thread for patch notes and patch discussion. The changes to Bayonetta will be catalogued here.

We will hand out large infractions and/or temporary bans to those who stifle this process of patch note exploration & future patch discussion.
Some examples include, but are not limited to:
1. Posting false changes or future patch news, good intentions or not.
2. Asking if anything has changed when the patch notes are there for you to read.
3. Immature behaviour and complaining over the patch changes.

Feel free to discuss the changes as well as future patches in this thread.

So, it looks like they've done their best to kill the 0-death ladders while keeping the intent of her being a combo-based character alive. Maybe we'll see some actual ground combos this time -- her trailer had some pretty crisp tilt to aerial to smash combos that not only look swell but are actually wayore faithful to her characters than "lol lemme just keep you in hitstun till we reach the blastzone". Hopefully now all of her options will be properly explored rather than just focusing on a few grossly overtuned aspects, kinda like with Sheik and MK.

The witch hunts are over indeed.

Well the changes were primarily for SDI numerical values, as well as some minor decimal damage nerfs, hitbox shrinkage and some redundant nerfs here and there. Overall I think her ladder combos will be done.

They really shrunk this one.
Holy ****. Now this is a huge nerf with Afterburner Kick and one I'm optimistic about. Now it's almost not disjointed, despite having some horizontal disjoints. But from her body's standpoint, she's gonna get hit more easily.

Also, hooray for quote condensing.

Dtilt looks just as disjointed horizontally, just smaller vertically? IDK, maybe my eyes are fooling me. Numbers don't lie, etc.

Edit: Changes to Twist are news to me. Furil Furil will you be doing a redo of that visualization too?

Simple value edits don't increase the file size lol, the patch is that big because 1.1.5 was that big

I'm under the impression that this isn't all of it. We have not seen this entire patch.
Well, someone COULD just give us data on how much megabytes it took for 1.1.5 to download. If it's not drastically higher, then there's no way it could just be Bayonetta. There'd have to be changes to physics or other things.

if this truly ends up being the whole patch i'd be quite pleased with that. I'm curious to see this new Bayo in practice, and if she is how it looks, this games balance is in a very good spot.

Witch Twist's SDI multiplier increase is pretty huge.
Yeah, it seems like it could be outright easy to get up and out of now if your SDI is on point.

On paper, at least. We'll still need to see how much easier it is in practice.

Only change of her param file is d-tilt FAF, 36 -> 38.
This don't means in-game value though.

No Bayonetta can't be it. Call me crazy or something, but 1.0.6 had 42 megabytes of changes for a variety of characters. One character can't simply be worth 60+ megabytes!

1.0.6 was 42 mb and it featured a plethora of changes, so to say that Bayonetta could be the only character could be misinformation!
