I personally see the Circle 7 Lost in Scaradise script as the "canon" Monsters Inc. sequel - my only real problems with it are how it reuses certain elements from Toy Story 2 and an easily redeemable villain getting an absurdly cruel commupance, but generally it's much more true to the first and further explores the Sulley-Boo relationship that made people want a Monsters 2 in the first place. If it were made it could've been to Circle 7 what Goofy Movie is to DisneyToon - a shining gem hidden in the dirt.
