  • Is anime an art style or is a term for all animated things that come from Japan? If it's the latter, what's the point of calling it anime? Western animation doesn't have a fancy name.

Anime is a general term for animated things in Japan. It's called anime because anime is the Japanese word for animation. If something looks like anime but isn't made in Japan, it isn't anime.

Anime doesn't have the same style and beats as other forms of animation, so it helps to differentiate by calling it anime. Otherwise, you are just going to be labeling distinctly different styles and cultures under a generic term like animation which isn't really useful.

It's like when people use Asian to describe people from that region. You are talking varied and vastly different cultures, races, power relations and dynamics in a large region. It isn't really useful to use that as a descriptor like European.
What if Fox Animation had their own Smash inspired game? It would have characters from Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers and many other shows.
Even if Kung Fu Panda 3 isn't as good as 1 and 2, it's still a great movie and it's still a billion times better than the DreamWorks movies that were released around the same time such as Trolls.
It's so obvious that Rey being Palpatine's grandkid was never the original intention. Nothing in Force Awakens or Last Jedi ever foreshadowed this.
Challenger Pack 11 could be a team of multiple characters such as a Sword/Shield Pokemon Trainer or the 4 BOTW Champions together. If it was a single character, I think the Vol. 2 deadline would be much sooner than December. September would make much more sense as the deadline.
What's so bad about Battletoads 2020 besides the art style and the Dark Queen's new look?

The most common complaint I saw was 'too many game styles in one game' though I feel like they forget that the original Battle Toads was a bit all over the place as you had straight up beat em up stages, 'elevator stages', platforming stages, the jet bike stages, etc. They were always a bit wild in terms of genres throughout the game.
What of the BOTW Champions are the final character and they're a 4 in 1 like Pokemon Trainer? Their stage could also be based on BOTW 2, a perfect way to promote BOTW 2.

We don't even know if the champions will be in BotW2, that seems more like an AoC promotion at this point.
Even if Smash 6 is a reboot, Sakurai should still try to bring back as many of the current characters as he can. And some of the cut characters could be DLC for Smash 6.

Charging $30 for premium access to watch a theatrical movie at home does make sense because you would be spending $30 to see it in theaters anyway. You would buy the tickets, pay for the gas to drive to the theater and buy the snacks from the snack bar, all of this together can cost $30.
What if the story of the Mario + Rabbids series becomes a continuous narrative from one installment to the next? Sparks of Hope would have a ton of connective tissue with Kingdom Battle.

That'd technically be a first for Mario...and I'd really be down for it. I mean, all we've really had in the past for a noticeable continuing story is just Fawful's arc across the first three M&L games...

But Dream Team and Paper Jam feel like two individual stories and they don't add anything to Fawful's arc.

I said the first three games. I know Fawful wasn't in either of the last two.
Can't decide if my favorite Vol. 2 character is either Min Min or Steve. Steve was one of my MWs, but on the other hand, Min Min's moveset captures the feeling of playing ARMS.
Would you watch Toy Story 3 and Cars 2 back to back but watch Toy Story 3 first?

i would watch cars 2 anytime. that movie is bat**** i adore it.
I can see why watching Rise of Skywalker immediately after watching Empire Strikes Back would feel like torture.
What would be the harm if Fortnite Jonsey was the final character? Minecraft and Fortnite are both considered by boomers to be "kiddy cancer games" but Minecraft is much more popular than Fortnite, so if Steve joining didn't ruin Smash, I doubt Jonsey will.

Jonsey wouldn't ruin Smash but, from my perspective, he's almost too...generic, I guess is the word I'd use. And out of all the 'shooter' characters to choose from I'd find it hard to be excited when there's far more interesting options to fill that role.

He's got a vast majority of items and weaponry to use to make up for that, as well as many different alts that would help him feel less generic. I can understand it from someone who wants a first person shooter though, as we don't have one yet.
"Waluigi will never join any Smash game because he's never been in a mainline game, spin offs don't matter."

If spin offs don't matter, why do Peach and Daisy use their tennis rackets and golf clubs in their movesets? They don't use those in mainline Mario games.
If Fatal Frame V is coming to PS5 and XBOX Series X/S, then the Zelda and ZSS costumes will have to be removed.
Notice how Kazuya only threw off characters that Nintendo hasn't used outside of Smash in a while. Human Ganondorf and Marth haven't been used in new Zelda or FE games in a while and Kirby doesn't count because he survives.
Fatal Frame V is finally coming to Switch. It couldn't survive being a digital only Wii U game. Maybe it will do better on Switch.
Who's hyped for the double reveal tomorrow?
I'm glad Sparks of Hope isn't called Kingdom Battle 2. The brand name should be just Mario + Rabbids.
Before the march 2020 direct, ARMS was at 2.10M sales. Now it's at 2.47M. Min Min's Smash inclusion made ARMS's sales increase by 370K.
It makes sense that all the ARMS characters are the main characters because they all have the same goal which is to win the ARMS Grand Prix.
Doesn't it feel a little contrived how Kirby is the only survivor of Galeem's attack? A lot of the Smash characters would know what to to do to survive and if Kirby's star can get him to safety, Falco's ship and Sonic's speed should be able to too and Ness would be able to use PSI Teleport to get away.

It would have made more sense for the original 8 to survive the attacks, since you know, all the other modes start with those characters, and for WoL to start with LESS than that is just really dumb.

and don't give me power scaling horse****, this is the same game where Pichu can beat Sephiroth.

At the very least, I wish Mario survived as well (since he's Mr. Video Game).

And why couldn't other characters ride on Kirby's star with him? He let Link and Pit grab onto it in SSE.
Piranha Plant will be the only character with no spirit battle puppet fighters. Everyone else has at least one.
The thing ARMS is supposed to teach us is that simplistic controls and simplistic command inputs doesn't always equal barebones gameplay. ARMS's gameplay does have depth but the depth is hidden within how you use each of the 42 gloves. Each glove plays and functions differently and each glove has different abilities. Each character also has different abilities and stats. If you ever feel bored playing ARMS, just use different gloves to customize your character's playstyle.
Spring Man should have been in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. ARMS wasn't out during the time MK8 Deluxe was releasing but putting him in anyway would have greatly boosted ARMS's sales and people would gotten to know Spring Man before playing his game.
It's hypocritical to say ARMS flopped when Xenoblade 1 and Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light sold way less than ARMS did. You can't consider ARMS to be a flop and not consider Fire Emblem and Xenoblade to be flops.
    Shroob
    Shroob
Can't speak in regards to Xenoblade, but you can't compare it to Fire Emblem in this instance. You're picking 2 games, which were remakes, out from what, 15~ titles? Fire Emblem has like, 14 games on ARMs, and has more sales by proxy of having more games.
    Inkling Man
    Inkling Man
But the very first Fire Emblem game flopped and it still got a ton of sequels, so even if ARMS did flop, it can get sequels too.

I mean, 329k for a Famicom game released only in Japan is pretty good imo. However, yes, but we'll have to wait and see when/if ARMs gets a sequel.
