  • I was going to jump into the final moments of Freddy's day in the Character Exploration thread just to say something along the lines of "Stop saying 'this would be a good FNAF stage' or 'what would his final smash be' or whatever because Freddy is not going to join the fight." But I realized it would sound kind of mean to those who weren't in on the joke and those that did probably wouldn't think it's funny.
I actually do think Freddy would be the best choice for a horror rep and would be really excited if he got in.
Sonic predictions for Summer Games Fest:
-Concert tease (it'll probably be only one song, my best guess is either Studiopolis Zone or a Crush 40 song)
-Metal Sonic revealed as playable in Colors Ultimate (you have to beat every Rival Rush to get him)

Non-Sonic predictions for Summer Games Fest:
-I honestly have no idea, I don't keep up with modern gaming apart from Sonic and Nintendo
My Pro Controller has just begun to drift on the left stick. And it’s really bad. So now I have run out of controllers that don’t drift.
I could send it into Nintendo but that would mean I wouldn’t be able to play my switch for quite some time. I’ll try to DIY it and if that doesn’t work out I’ll just get a new one.
I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy Lethal League Blaze. Normally I don't play fighting games outside of Smash and the occasional arena fighter, but this one seems like I'll be able to get into it quite a bit. I love Naganuma's music and I also just want to support Team Reptile as much as I can.
Mega Man X7 is unbelievably bad. I was just playing the game like normally and...it crashed. Crazy amounts of lag are normal for Mega Man X games, but I've never had one crash on me, ever.
I really hate how the legacy of Sonic Forces makes people retroactively consider Unleashed and Generations as games where you just run through hallways. Generations especially has some really open level design quite a few times in the Act 2's, and Unleashed does a really good job of ramping up the difficulty for its boost gameplay, so even if you are running linearly, its very engaging, fun, and challenging.
Okay, I might have to cut down the size of my Switch FC on my SB profile, cuz every time I make a post, even if it's a small one, a good chunk of the thread is taken up by the lyrics of After Today from A Goofy Movie and while I don't mind that, I know the mods might and possibly want to take away our recently found power.
Nintendo just posted a Switch article called “How to be suspicious in Among Us.”
Why are people so mad about Colors Ultimate being exclusive to Epic Games Store on PC? Do they realize that exclusivity is a thing in gaming?

Okay to be fair this video is a bit out of date, Customer support and Security was improved, and you can open the EXE File directly from the files to launch offline.

The other ones are totally true though.

PC gamers love the idea of a monopoly.

I think the issue is more that PC gaming isn't about exclusivity. PCs and PC games being hardware agnostic as well as the ease of piracy means that PC becomes an open platform as a result and allows for multiple hardware and software vendors which ultimately reduces the price of PC gaming. Contrast that with console gaming where you are locked into specific vendors who control prices and availability.

One of the biggest advantages PC has over console are cheap games. You can get AAA titles for 5-10 bucks a year after release. You'd be lucky to get those under $40 after five years without needing a subscription on console. That may no longer be the case if you get stores like EGS throwing around Chinese money to pay publishers to sign exclusivity deals.

Another big advantage is choice. If I don't like how one distributor is handling a particular game or I prefer the launcher of another then I have the option of taking my business to another. If I find a better deal on a particular store then I'm free to buy on that one over the others which further leads to the cheap prices I mentioned above.

What EGS is doing runs counter to the culture of PC gaming and that naturally is going to bunch some panties in that space.
They really should've made the letters more legible on that last Sonic reveal. I've heard people say it's Zao, Zag, Up, etc.
Personally I think it says Zap. Makes sense for how fast Sonic went in the beginning there.
Decided to try out Sonic on Elite Smash today due to the recent news hype and...
Wow. He's surprisingly really fun for such a passive character-even if I play him more aggressively than most Sonic mains.

I think we’ll get the two things that were leaked (Colors and the collection) and a teaser for Sonic movie 2. Then some smaller stuff like Sonic appearing in other games like he’s been doing. Probably gonna finish off with a reveal of the next big 3D game.
Someone pointed out that in the “Unstoppable For Generations” video, you can see what kinda looks like a high-res version of the forest part of the opening from Sonic Adventure. If that’s what it is, that would be pretty cool.

As a writer, one of the main issues I suffer from is having a great idea for a climactic or just really cool moment in the middle or end of a story, and rushing the beginning to get there. I honestly think that's maybe what happened with Sonic 06-as a whole, not just the story. Like, Sonic running on the side of a waterfall at Mach 2 with light shining down from the end of the tunnel, made up of more waterfalls and Elizabethan architecture, is my favorite moment of Sonic spectacle in-game, hands down. But when I consider just what led me to this moment (a terrible story with a lot of filler and not enough substance) and the actual gameplay itself (Sonic dies by tripping on rocks and can't even move in the air), it becomes less enjoyable. Those beautiful high speed sections of spectacle, as well as some of the better-looking cutscenes, are some of my favorite moments in Sonic history, but what comes before or after those moments is just a lack of good buildup.
Though this is only one problem of many-the rushed release date and internal issues also didn't help.
Finally beat the last B-side of Celeste. All that's left are C-sides, Chapter 8 and the DLC.
Gotta say, really strange how the game waits until the last section of the last B-side to tell you about a new mechanic with the dash, but ok. Rest of the level was really fun and for the most part, a great challenge.
Just saw the new trailer and ok, new Mario Golf looks VERY good. Like this might be my favorite Mario sports game ever.
Been playing through the classic Mega Man series for the first time recently.
    • Mega Man 1 was a pretty good start to the series but obviously much work needed to be done. Specifically some of the weapons weren't very fun at all (looking at you, Super Arm), the level design can be really cheap (especially when ladders are involved), and some of the enemies take WAY too many hits. Also the controls are pretty bad compared to...
    • Mega Man 2 was when things started to look up. My main complaint is that the game was a bit too easy, but I'll let that slide since this was the second game and I've already played the majority of the X series, so some of the challenge I might just be desensitized to. The weapons were way more fun this time around, especially Metal Blade and Quick Boomerang. These games do a way better job of actually making me WANT to use the other weapons instead of sticking with the tried and true buster, unlike the X series where it does the job 24/7. The game's music was also incredible and it's just the perfect length. BS level design persisted in some stages though, namely Quick Man's which requires you to have the level memorized by heart, mind and soul in order to not die. The final act what with breaking into Wily's fortress with badass music in the background, and the hilarious final encounter put this up there as one of my favorite MM games. Also the tools are really fun to use.
    • Mega Man 3 I haven't replayed yet unlike the other two, so my thoughts on it aren't complete. Though I will say, the weapons are much more balanced this time around, Proto Man is cool as heck, the level design gave more of a fair challenge than 1 or 2, and the slide adds some much needed freedom to the movement of the classic series-it feels like Sonic 2's spindash in that sense. Though I will say that the final act drags on for WAY too long even if it's really cool.
    I'll organize my thoughts later.
Normally I'm not the biggest fan of Rouge but I've fallen in love with this specific IDW panel and I don't really know why.
X, you're finally awake! Sting Chameleon nailed you pretty badly there, huh?

Alia? Nightmare Zero? The third dimension? What are you talking about? Come on, we finally found Sigma's fortress! Let's go in and put an end to his war against the humans!
    From Sonic Wikia:
"(Shiro Maekawa, former Sonic writer) has also stated that Shadow the Hedgehog is his favorite character and has expressed how he feels that he has a stronger bond with him than his actual family members."
