  • I think what people love most about Twisted Metal: Black, besides the gameplay and the music, especially the fact that they used a Rolling Stones song, are the drivers and their storylines, the realism, and probably the dark, moody, creepy tone and atmosphere.

Pretty much. The gameplay was as tight as the franchise had gotten to, the designs of the vehicles were very mad max and fit the grungy vibe going on. The character story arcs were more tragic and not played for yuks (That isn't to say the tongue in cheek monkey's paw-esque endings of the series aren't good or anything, just the tonal shift felt appropriate considering the game's overall theme) and yeah...the music is great to boot. I do wish the game wasn't so dark (light wise) during gameplay itself. Just a little lighter to make things more clear as some maps it could be difficult to really see a lot of things clearly.

Really wish the planned sequel wasn't axed. But, Sony being Sony.

I think Twisted Metal: Harbor City (the cancelled Twisted Metal: Black sequel) had a hack and slash segment where you play as Sweet Tooth (Needles Kane). Maybe there was more than one segment of that.
We haven’t seen a Twisted Metal game since the 2012 PS3 reboot. Although, Twisted Metal: Black was ported to PS4, and the PS1 Twisted Metal games have probably been ported to PS3. Anyway, we’ve been missing a new vehicular combat game for a while. We need more cars and mayhem!

A new Twisted Metal on PS4 or PS5 would be awesome, yes

A new Twisted Metal but without Sony's insufferable restrictions (Which was why Twisted Metal (PS3) was the way it was) would be fantastic, especially if they can get Jaffe back and just let him work his magic instead of being stuffy suits.

I'd also kill for a new Vigilante 8 but...well, Activision. Luxoflux has been down for years (2010). And I doubt any of the folks who made the original duo of games are likely to get a reunion to make their magic happen, if they even 'still got it' with the franchise. Years off the franchise and probably haven't touched a game similar to it in that time...unless new teams for either game have the reverence for either franchise and talent to make something amazing on their own.

Imagine if they got both David Jaffe and Scott Campbell back for a new Twisted Metal game...
I’d like to play the modern Ninja Gaiden trilogy, but I don’t know which versions I should play. I know I should probably play Razor's Edge, but should I play Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden II or Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Master Collection)?
I think a lot of people might either agree or disagree with me on this one, but I feel like most games these days are missing metal soundtracks. And I’m talking HEAVY METAL.

Then again, not a lot of games back then had metal soundtracks either, except maybe Donkey Kong Country, Doom, F-Zero, some 3D Mario games, Duke Nukem, and Twisted Metal.

What we really need more of in games is reggae. I can literally only think of one reggae game song, not even an entire soundtrack. (The flea market song in PaRappa the Rapper)

Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario We DO need more reggae in video games, as well. If it counts, I found this song and its arranged version from Ehrgeiz:
When it comes to music, I think a strings section counts as orchestration, but what about a horns section?

A lot of people say that Final Fantasy VII is their favorite FF game, or maybe even FFVI. Well, honestly, I think my favorite FF game has to be FFX. Although, I never finished it. Don’t get me wrong, FFVI and FFVII are great in their own ways, but I think FFX is my favorite.
I like to think that the Dead Or Alive series has FOUR protagonists. Kasumi, Ayane, Ryu Hayabusa (protagonist of the Ninja Gaiden series), and Hayate/Ein.
Why is it that fighting games always have to make the main character so hard to play as? (Not counting crossover fighting games.)
    LAA9000
    LAA9000
Only in 3D fighters. In most 2D fighters the main character is one of the easiest characters to play because they're the character most new players will gravitate towards, while in most 3D fighters they're one of the hardest because players should have to 'earn' the right to play as the main character.

How many clones of Snake are there in the entire Metal Gear franchise?
    ninjahmos
    ninjahmos
Does he? I don’t think so, but I might be wrong.

Venom Snake isn't a clone. He's like, a random guy they performed plastic surgery on and brainwashed to believe he was Big Boss.
    Champion of Hyrule

I was gonna say “Three clones so far” but then I realized… yeah mgs isn’t getting continued any time soon.
I also think that the main theme of the entire Tekken series is the Tekken Tag Opening Theme/Piano Intro.
This might be stupid, but I think the entire Street Fighter series has multiple main themes. The Street Fighter II Opening Theme, Ryu's Theme, Ken's Theme, Street Fighter IV Main Theme/Volcanic Rim, and others.
Which Tekken game is your favorite in terms of something? My favorite is Tekken 4 in terms of storytelling and music.
    dezeray112
    dezeray112
Tekkens 4 and 5 are my personal favorites. Like you said about the storytelling, each of the characters' have prologues and epliogues and especially with the rival scenes in Tekken 5. This is the one aspect that I really wished Tekken 7 would have in their game so that I can get a better idea of the new characters' back story and motivation for entering the tournament.

Also, I think Tekken 2 and Tekken 4 are my favorites in terms of music and dark tones.
We just tried making a pizza for the first time. We used store-bought pizza dough. I gotta say: it was pretty good. We’re thinking of doing it again sometime, but next time we might make OUR OWN dough, with more stuff to make pizzas.

We made TWO pizzas. A pepperoni pizza and a vegetarian pizza. For the pepperoni pizza, we used marinara sauce, and for the vegetarian pizza, we used pesto.
Am I the only person who thinks that the piano music in Rocky sounds like something you'd hear in a Studio Ghibli film?
I think the catchiest Disney song has to be either Son Of Man or Strangers Like Me by Phil Collins. Or Elton John's versions of Circle Of Life, I Just Can't Wait To Be King, and Can You Feel The Love Tonight. I’m not sure. What do you guys think?
I think SEGA should bring back Golden Axe, Shinobi, and Altered Beast. They should also bring back Dynamite Headdy, Vectorman, Ristar, and Jet Set Radio. And maybe even Eternal Champions. Which IPs do you guys think SEGA should bring back?
Another thing about The House of the Dead 2's voice acting: The Civilians' voices can be a little...inconsistent at times.
I kinda wish filmmakers would start using practical effects for VFX more often, instead of JUST CGI. Although, by today’s film standards, practical effects would probably look...how do I put this? Weird.
I wonder which person at Warner Bros thought mixing slapstick humor and irreverent humor with dark action cartoon, when they were making Loonatics Unleashed, was a good idea?

I guess they must've seen the edgy anime-esque direction Sonic and the TMNT were taking at the time and decided to use it on their biggest family-friendly IP, oblivious to the fact that only worked because those characters were already superheroes to an extent, even if comical or cute.

Why they didn't just use any of these is beyond me, I guess they didn't want any conflicts with the comical Adult Swim versions of Space Ghost and Birdman.
I've been thinking. What are Spider-Man and Godzilla doing in The Revenge of Shinobi? And why are they boss fights? Did SEGA somehow get permission from Marvel and Toho?
I know a lot of people want Ryu Hayabusa for Smash. I want him in Smash too. But I honestly think that Strider Hiryu, Joe Musashi, and, if possible, maybe even Hotsuma would be great additions too.

    RetrogamerMax
But I don't think non of those other guys you mentioned are anywhere as iconic as Hayabusa. Ryu Hayabusa is a NES All Star and a lot of people would be thrilled to see him in the game if he got in.
We all know that the voice acting in The House of the Dead 2 is SO laughably bad, but I think that the character with the best voice acting is Gary, and the character with the worst voice acting is Zeal. You know, that little evil bat thing with the high squeaky voice who tended to pause when he was speaking? He's 1/2 of Judgement with Kuarl.
Is it possible to WRITE game design? Not just drawing and engineering, but also, like, LITERALLY writing game design, like a screenplay/script or something like that?
You know what would be pretty cool? Rail shooter/light gun shooter representation in Smash (besides Duck Hunt, Wild Gunman, Star Fox, and Sin and Punishment). Like, Time Crisis, The House of the Dead, etc.

Sure, it’d be unlikely, but still pretty cool.
Man, I wish Nintendo would make a new Punch Out game, so players can fight Super Macho Man again, and RELEASE THE BOGUS!

I must be the only one here who's fine with the Wii game being a fitting enough send-off to the series. It had Tomorrow's Joe and Fighting Ippo levels of feels. I have no regrets.

To me, I like that Punch Out only has 4 games as the NES game had a lot of charm to it that isn't matched by the other titles in the franchise. I'm fine with Punch Out getting very few games.

I’m sorry, that was a pretty bad joke.
Unfortunately, I think one of the reasons Nintendo doesn’t really do as much with Waluigi as they do with Mario, Luigi, Wario, or other Mario characters, is because...well, Nintendo didn’t even really make Waluigi. Camelot did.
I have a stupid question about Wario. Where did the whole idea of Wario farting originate from anyway? Before Mario Strikers and Smash, I mean.
Is it just me, or do Smash fans seem...picky when it comes to characters?

You ain't lying. Smash fans are SUPER picky about character picks no matter who you are. Sakurai has given Ultimate and all the past Smash titles all the love and hard work in the world and this fanbase is most of the time not grateful for what he has done for us. The Smash fanbase is the most greedy and selfish video game fanbase in the whole industry.

Especially, like, newcomers. I mean, there are characters that some people asked for, and characters that other people didn’t ask for. I wonder how often the people who didn’t ask for a specific newcomer complain about the character?

A lot. I've been playing the Smash games since Melee's release and one thing I have learned is that most of the time, you probably ain't going to get who you want. Smash has had over 80 characters in it's roster and only like a dozen or so characters were characters I wanted from the beginning. The key to waiting for characters is patience with Smash. Like, I waited since Melee's release for K. Rool, Ridley and Banjo & Kazooie. That's almost 20 years.
You know what I think F-Zero needs? Spin-offs. For example, I think they should make an open world beat em up/racer hybrid game where you play as Captain Falcon, capturing bounties and racing, and maybe a third person shooter/racing hybrid where you play as Pico.
