Exact replicas created from the Hands because in the intro to the first game, you see Master Hand take out one of the fighters out of a toy box. I think it's clear that Smash Bros. isn't canon to the respected franchises that take part in it as I think Master Hand is like a kid Andy from Toy Story per say in a way and all the fighters are his toys he plays with.
