I sure do love being able to spam shotrhop DAir as Wario and projectile camp with bike pieces while anyone playing any grounded character gets to give me free advantage by tripping for no reason.

Oz o: Oz o: Ye, I still play whenever I can get the chance. Some may think the game is dead, but there's still a somewhat active community through Discord.

Still one of my absolute favorite smash games in terms of gameplay. Incredibly underrated game.
Ultimate made me feel like I could express a certain creative freedom when it came to winging certain combos and strings. I never had that ability before, and I think Ultimate helped with that. I think you can see some of that in my clips. And even though my Corrin in Smash 4 was pretty good, I generally felt more linear when it came to these things.
You no like the Rocky song.

Couldn't sleep last night, and that song brought me back up from the way I felt. It's one hell of a powerful song.
Why you like Smash 4 so much.
    S
    StoicPhantom
I wouldn't really say I liked it a lot. Just like it more than Ultimate from a strictly competitive standpoint of which I view Ultimate as a more limited Smash 4. I think Ultimate wins in most other respects other than things like online and controls.

Came by Catching Zss again, after two years. It's funny, I actually showed up on his stream:
I went Sephiroth, but I played well.

This ****ing wifi Bowser """"""""""3 stocked"""""""""" me, and it just felt like wifi was doing the work for him. I kept misspacing **** and he just kept doing Up B OoS and dumbass attacks that would land because wifi. I considered kicking him the first few seconds, but I won't kick someone like that without a rematch. Jackass just left, thinking he's the ****, when he's just another ass wifi player who can't do squat offline.

And this is where I always say, it's hardly ever the actual good players that don't rematch you. It's always the ****ty wifi players that think they're too good to give you a chance. They're so bad, they don't even know they're bad.
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
but yeah, beyond that, I've been doing really well. Improving my mixups and normals game with Zelda, which I definitely think is a key to really being exceptional with her. Neutral B won't save your forever. Played a good, patient Marth, and I felt really good about my game in those sets.

Managed to play wifi and have fun two days in a row, so I don't know what's up. Also playing kind of better, getting some insane strings and frametraps.
But then I had to turn off because the GC controller is too noisy and bugs my mother.

Joycons weren't noisy. Joycons are great.

Joycons being great is a rare statement in the smash community.
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
Well, I would know. I legitimately chose them over GC controller in spite of using the former for 2-3 weeks in the beggining. I only used Joycons a single night, and I basically got far better used to them. The layout is more comfterble, such as things like C stick being a lot closer (makes RAR Bair'ing easier). I also much prefer the stick over the other ones, because it's a lot shorter and it feels like I reach the input faster.

I've used them for almost two years, but ultimately went with GC. Joycons aren't the most sturdy, I can't afford replacing them.
You know you're ass when a main of your character can't stand you in their Arena...

I currently use the Zelda icon in online. I was using Byleth at the time, and this Zelda stopped by and he kept Teleporting in neutral. It was really annoying.

And I think he's literally the only Zelda I played so far, in the U.S. They were pretty uncommon in South America, and I haven't seen another single Zelda player. Was it just some kind of season where they were a thing?

I've always found Zelda to be one of the rarest characters. I never really got why people always complained about her being so popular.

I can’t sleep. I’m too excited over adding those things into my game. It feels so good to have a solid idea of what you can really do to improve your game, without it being all abstract and vague stuff.

Really looking forward to trying that, tomorrow.

    Be positive.

Seriously though, you just have to find things that make you feel positive. Having good friends or accomplishing things and things along those lines. Though some people just simply have a disposition towards negativity. Though I would also say that negativity is still relative to the subject at hand too. You don't exactly want to be positive about negative subjects.
    Doc Monocle

That is a very good question... A question for the ages in fact! We are negative because the world around us feeds us stimuli that tend to promote negative responses. This means that being positive is an uphill battle, a battle you will lose without outside help. I suggest you take time to yourself and ask out loud if there is a friend who cares for you. You have my word that if there is one, you will be heard.
It's funny how the actual solid players are the ones that do rematch you multiple times.

Yeah, it really does show you the difference when people aren't afraid to rematch you. Whenever I was just trying to learn a character I would sometimes just sandbag online and sometimes I would run into people that would taunt me for like an hour while I was using them as practice. But they weren't that great and in Smash 4 I would sometimes switch to my main and body them after a bit and they would immediately leave lol.

Fought a ZSS that kind of trashed me Game 1, and I was mad because I really expected him to do the ass move and leave... but he stuck around, and I really showed him. Went even for most part, very back in forth. He was pretty solid, but he also ran away a lot and still made it fun to play.

    Oof.

    What was the problem?
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
No problem, I just put the insides into a way smaller dock. Apparently some people do that, and I can see the appeal. I only did it because I thought the replacement dock would allow some sort of portable setup. But, sadly, it only works when connected.

Had my first weekly since before April, last night. I'm in the U.S right now (Florida, specifically), and apparently there's some areas that still hold weeklies. The one I went to was pretty small, hardly any players, but at least it was pretty enjoyable. We actually played outside, since it would've otherwise been too packed.

Did pretty awful, in bracket and even in most friendlies. There were times I managed to show glimpses of my real skill, but very sparringly. Regardless, I was surprisingly calm the whole time. Even that was miles better than online.

I really do like her. She's more technical than people give her credit for, with her (actual real) combos and stuff you can do shifting between arms and all that. She's also not that slow, and it's the same thing people do with Zelda and other characters that turn them boring and onedimensional when they have a lot more going for them.
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
I'm also reluctant to spend 6 US$ just to "try" a character, so I really had to make sure I liked her. I checked all data I could on her, and ultimately just rolled with it.
Played really well today. Going from my laggy living room TV to the one in my room (both with Game Mode) feels like going from the gravity chamber x500g to taking the weight off.

That Byleth Up-B cancel is an interesting thing. Is that something you do for aesthetic purposes or do you do it for specific spacing purposes?
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
Well, it feels good, for one, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't an actual use (otherwise players like MKLeo wouldn't do this with Joker). I think they stall a little more in the air and don't have to deal with fall speed that way.
    Guess I love Zelda.

Yeah, I saw it not too long after it was first discovered. I noticed it before I read about it and thought I might have discovered a new tech but it turned out to be this. I don't have much to say as I haven't had time to lab but early impressions are that it is actually ok at full hopping over attacks and punishing with Phantom at the same time. Quite a lot of potential overall.
For the first time in around 6 months (quarantine), I actually felt good playing offline for the past 2 days. I feel all wifi did was **** up a lot of my timings. I did learn a lot of things in these past 6 months, but it was on wifi, and it looks like I never got it down offline since I could hardly practice it. I messed up in a lot of subtle things, like tournarounds at the right moment, and small things of precision like that.

These two days were a lot different, and it's been a very long time since I actually felt, not only content with my play, but outright happy about it. It's always been constant disappointment, for the longest time.

I'm starting to actually incorporate RAR Phantoms, and it's flowing smoothly. I started pulling off some of my combos, even.

Yeah my friend and I did some teams yesterday and had really good connections for the first time in a long time. It really is a completely different experience when there's no lag and we actually had fun with the game for once. My friend was almost about to explode over being able to body this guy who was trying to do WiFi Cloud shenanigans after we destroyed his Steve.
