  • Anyways, I'm about to start Strange Journey. Not my first SMT game (Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and the Persona Dancing trilogy), but it's my first mainline one. What am I in for?

    For one, it's not mainline.
For two, it's like Etrian Odyssey. Lots of tiles and maps. Really not my preferred gameplay.
I personally recommend 4 Apocalypse the most as far as mainline SMT goes.
I often like to ***** to people about a variety of things, but one subject I'll almost never complain about to anyone that isn't me is my personal life. That's not because it's perfect (or my ideal version of it); if anything, it's far from it. Rather, it's because I don't see a reason to and I just don't feel comfortable doing it. All I'm doing is wasting your valuable time on a website that probably isn't the best use of your time either. Even if this were the place to discuss "life" (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), I'd probably only post inconsequential **** like games I'd recently bought, what I'm eating ATM, or what my dream was last night. Additionally, I usually get a feeling that something I post can and/or will get posted into a cringe compilation or be used as a forum weapon. I'm afraid of making a clown out of myself and it's happened to me in the past (on here, on other sites, and IRL); embracing it only makes things worse. With all that being said, I find this post somewhat ironic because I hate complaining about myself.
Did SmashBoards ever try a dislike system? I think it would be kind of cool to have one.
I think it's weird that I like fighting games even though I suck at them and rarely play against actual human opponents since no one around me is interested and my internet connection sucks eggs.
Something I like doing with my amiibo sometimes is trying to bypass Nintendo's censors with swear words such as "* * * * * * * *" (Incineroar) and "Oh * * * *" (Isabelle). For most of my amiibo I do this to, the trick is to use at least one letter from a Cyrillic keyboard. Why do I do this? IDK I have an immature sense of humor or something; either that or I'm really bored.

Why doesn't SmashBoards let you preview profile posts before posting?
Pyra (:ultpyra:) is a gorilla. Also, if ONE exception was made to the "video games only" rule and said exception was determined by the Smash Ballot, do you think it would be Shrek, or would you think voters would be more careful about who they'd request to be included in Smash? (Or some other third choice I didn't bring up...)
What's your favorite episode of SpongeBob SquarePants?
Not to sound like an asshole, but does anyone seriously think there'll be a bonus fighter with Vol. 2? I was kind of entertaining the idea between the releases of Min Min and Sephiroth, but I think if we do get anyone, it'll be an echo fighter for one of the currently two remaining Challenger Packs.
Also, I've been getting back into amiibo training recently and have started taking it a little more seriously than I was before.
I remember a dream of the Mystery Gang from Scooby-Doo appearing in Smash Ultimate. Supposedly, one was added to each installment in this order: Shaggy, Scooby, Freddy, Daphne, and Velma. They each had their own amiibo. Not only that, but even within the dream, Sakurai reinforced his "video game characters only" thing despite characters not from video games being in since the first game. I also had a dream of Yu Narukami from Persona 4 being playable with his render being similarly posed to shirtless Sephiroth. Why am I telling you all of this? I don't know; I guess I want to see how people react.
I want more anime swordsmen in Smash. But seriously, a good chunk of characters I'd like to see make it into Smash could be categorized as "anime", "swordsmen", or both.
What's your least favorite game that you enjoy playing? For me, it's Super Mario Sunshine.

I don't even like 2D Mario platformers but for some reason I can't get enough of SMW.

That game makes me rage so much but I still love it

I still can't beat that godamn river segment.
Why is it that Sephiroth suddenly "deconfirms" a bunch of characters just because he's from the same company as them when the same **** was said about Hero and BK? I mean, it may not happen this season, but that doesn't necessarily mean said characters are out of the running.
Is it bad that I have conditioned myself to close my eyes whenever I anticipate a jumpscare? To me, it sounds like something a ***** would do....

Not at all. When I was a kid, I use to be afraid of the dark and half of the time, I slept with my parents because I didn't wanted to sleep in a dark room. Of course, I could have a lap on but the lights bother my sleeping though. I overcame that fear of the darkness as I got older. It's normal to be afraid of something regardless of how old you are.
I threw cooked salami in my egg sandwich and it was so gross I think I became dumber because of it. It smelled like nail polish and tasted like burnt rubber.
I think horror is less so a genre and moreso a setting when it comes to video games. Same with "adult" games.

Is Smash TRULY a celebration of video gaming when it doesn't even have a Senran Kagura character that punches with her *******?

What the heck? Did you reply to the wrong thread or something?
Were the Game Awards filled with social justice pandering and corporate circlejerking? I popped off a little after Back 4 Blood.

You used the term "SJW" unironically.

I dunno, seems TGA ain't the ones giving "normie vibes" here.

Yes I did. What about it? What were you trying to get at by pointing this out?

What do you mean by this? I mean conservatives and conservatism can be normie, but I don't see how using "SJW" unironically makes someone a normie. Anyways, I wasn't trying to use "normie" to fling **** at TGA; rather I used it as a synonym for mainstream. There's nothing inherently wrong with being mainstream. (I should know cus I love Spongebob.)

It was basically E3. It had several major reveals and more, what with say, those filters or The Wooper Watch.
To be honest, the idea of a "Nintendo vs. Capcom" doesn't really appeal to me. I'm up for "SEGA vs. Capcom", though.
So... What is RWBY like now? Did it improve at all? I dropped the show about a month before Volume 5 premiered and have mainly avoided it since outside of Chibi and BBTAG.
I find it funny that some people voted for their candidate because "well at least it's not the other guy". I'd seen both Trump and Biden supporters say this, and it's ridiculous.
What's the first Persona like? I mean Revelations. I rarely see anyone talk about that one.

It's fairly outdated but has some interesting mechanics and the story is really good.

Persona 2 kinda does everything better than it (and its first localization was hilariously bad) so you don't see people talking about Revelations much but it's still a solid dungeon crawler for its time.

Which Star Wars games are worth playing? I was recently eyeballing Empire at War, Shadows of the Empire and Fallen Order. So far, I own the following:
    • Star Wars Battlefront (2004) (Steam)
    • Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) Steam)
    • Star Wars Battlefront (2015) (PS4)
    • Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) (PS4)
    • Star Wars Bounty Hunter (PS4)
    • Star Wars Racer Revenge (PS4)
    • LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Xbox 360)
    • LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PS4)

avoid shadows of the empire. While I do still like it myself, I'll 100% admit it's from nostalgia since I got it when i was a kid for the n64.

It's one of those N64 Games that have aged like Milk unfortunately. Gameplay is stiff, AI is awful, music is just a contant repetitive mix of standard themes from the movies, and obvious graphics are outdated.

NOw granted...it is dirt cheap so maybe you won't mind spending under 10 bucks for it. But I just know that going back and playing it now, the ONLY reason I still find some enjoyment is due to nostalgia.

Have you checked out Unleashed? My sibling used to play it all the time.

The original Battlefront games were kind of unique and had a lot of charm that I felt was missing from the remakes. The new ones felt too much like your typical Call of Duty type game even if it was decently made while I put a lot of hours in both of the originals.

Empire at War is a really good RTS game if those are your thing and just looks really good overall.

Shadows of the Empire is good if you want to experience some videogame history even it is pretty dated by modern standards.

I remember Bounty Hunter being really fun and pretty good looking back on PS2, but I don't know anything about PS4.
