Sakurai started development on Smash 4 in 2012 and immediately started development on Ultimate right after on working on the DLC in Smash 4 back in 2016. So I think Sakurai is going to take a long desereved break from Smash development probably a decade or 8 years.

Sakurai is most likely going to work on something new (presumably related to the Vifam gun he talked about a couple years back) after Ultimate's done, so around 7 years or so from now.

Every console's lifespan is at least 5-6 years long so if Smash 6 came out in late 2027, that would be too close to the end of the next console's lifespan and Smash 6 won't sell very well.

Well, I've read somewhere that the Switch's lifespan might be a bit longer than previous Nintendo consoles because of it's insane success and it's portability.

If the Switch's lifespan really will be 10 years long then Smash 6 could be a launch title or an early release for the next console.

Pretty much. Launch title/early console title/midway console title release would work.
