Honestly I think SEGA should mainly stick to 2D Sonic. Maybe do something similar to New Super Mario Bros to make it feel modern. Same formula that works perfectly, with a glossy and fresh coat of paint to get players both new and old interested. I've always loved 2D Sonic (grew up with Sonic Advanced series on GBA), and I would buy this in a heartbeat.

I don't know if Sega will really want to try and find an "Ideal Formula" for 3D Sonic. Around the time Unleashed was coming out, people were starting to say that it was about time they moved on from the Sonic Adventure style. Yet fast forward to now where requests for Sonic Adventure 3 are more prominent than ever.

The Boost formula is in a similar boat. A lot of people have been saying they're tired of it and want something new. If we do get something new, then a couple years later there will probably be some demand for the boost formula to return.

@psb123 Well they may not want to, but they need to. I don't think it has to be Boost or Adventure-a lot of the best 3D Sonic fangames like GT and Utopia are momentum-based like Classic Sonic. Whatever they do, they need to at least stick to it for a little while. If the Classic games have remained largely the same since 92, then 3D Sonic should be able to do the same given the right people and ideas. I don't want Adventure 3, at this point it's been so long to the point where I'm certain Sonic Team will f**k it up somehow if they're using their current staff. As long as they stick to one thing and do their absolute best with it, there shouldn't be that much demand for other 3D styles.

RealPokeFan11 So are you saying no 3D games should come out? That would be a punch in the gut to us fans who know it can do well and have seen it been done in the past. I want the series to evolve from where it is now, and writing out a whole version of Sonic doesn't seem like a good way to do so.
