  • Finished DKC3.

I uh...didn’t like it as much as the first 2.

Country is a classic, and Country 2 is a masterpiece. But Country 3, I dunno I really just didn’t vibe with it. The setting, the levels, the bosses, the music, none of it was any better than the first two. By no means is it a bad game, just not a game I particularly enjoyed.

But hey, now I can say I’ve played every Donkey Kong Country game!
With Geno out of the running I’m now looking towards Crash, Monster Hunter, Eggman, and possibly Pokémon for the remaining three characters.

Though truth be told these are just ideas, it’s been proven time and time again we really have no idea what Sakurai’s thinking.
Still waiting for my next Banjo Kazooie moment. But Sephiroth’s cool I suppose.
    I just watched Animaniacs (2020)
And I loved it to the max
    In some areas it lacked
But it still got tons of laughs
    It’s Animaniacs!

Seen a few clips. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way how they removed the mink and nurse female characters and then claim to have "gender balance" in the theme song.

That is one of the things I didn’t like, yes. I don’t like the notion that a female character can’t be attractive AND a fully fleshed out character. I understand they were originally created for “haha woman sexy” jokes and that’s not okay these days, but if they wanted they could make them more than that. Maybe Hello Nurse became an actual doctor, and she’s really good at it? I dunno.

It's only "not okay these days" to western weirdos that have to ruin things for everyone else. It's why I still prefer to support Japanese media that still makes those jokes to this day and people that have nothing better to do than whine about it are ultimately foolish for doing so since those characters still have personality, strength and a high level of independence beyond that because Japan seems to value artistic freedom more than America does.
Several months ago I completed the national Pokedex for the first time in my almost decade long pocket monsters career. Of course with the recent update there are more Pokémon to capture. Two of which I cannot obtain through normal means, unless of course I were to buy another copy of Sw/Sh and the dlc, just to trade them over.

A rational man would realize that paying an extra 90$ for two digital creatures makes no damn sense.

I am not a rational man.
I wake up every morning, feeling awesome!

Even though I slept on the Switch again last night...

Time to tear up another day, the NOIPOI freaking way!

Like a shooting star, or an exploding car, my style shines so bright!

Please, stop trying, to handle my style. Cuz you can’t. No you can’t (uh) handle my style.

I’m serious! Stop trying, to handle my style...

Unless you’re a lady, in which case you’re invited to have a giant slice of my style!!!
I’ve now 100% completed Mario Galaxy. I absolutely loved it! It hasn’t aged poorly at all, it’s incredibly fun. My only issue are the purple coin missions, which I found very tedious. But besides that, I had an amazing time. I plan on 100% completing it with Luigi and getting the final secret star, but not yet. I don’t wanna play through the entire game after I just beat it.

Right now, after jumping through (some of) Mario’s 3D history. I feel like doing the Odyssey.
That bump of chicken music video, holy crap. It reminded me of why I love Pokémon.

I love this series. I don’t care what anyone says.

I found like, two thirds of SwSh enjoyable. If they fix up that last third I’m all good.
    Finished Mario Sunshine.

Had way more fun overall than 64, but when Sunshine got frustrating it was waaayyy more infuriating than 64. I craved inhuman amounts of violence at certain points. But all in all, I had fun. More than I had with 64.

And now for the game I’ve been dying to play this whole time, onto Super Mario Galaxy!
Finished Mario 64. Was gonna 100% but I gave up.

The game is absolutely legendary, and for good reason. But if I’m being honest I couldn’t stand it. Not to say I didn’t have any fun, I did, but it was very tedious to get through.

    Ah well, on to Sunshine!

Despite what a lot of people say about the camera in SM64 and a lot of N64 games, I don't really have a problem with it.

Games from that era I've never been able to get into. Had to really push myself to finish the main campaign as well. Not sure if Sunshine's lows equal out to 64's, but I do think it's highs are higher.

64 is a better game than Sunshine. Both are glitchy games, but Sunshine is probably more glitchy especially in certain areas of the game. 64 is a more polished game in terms of how it was coded, but Sunshine had more glitchy moments. Sunshine isn't a bad game and get's a bad rep that it doesn't deserve, but I wouldn't place it higher than 64 as a game. Sunshine does look better and has aged better though.

But I'm warning you, if you never played Sunshine don't attempt to get all the Shine Sprites on your first try because getting all the blue coins is a nightmare. There are 240 blue coins in the game 30 in each course, 20 in Delfino Plaza, and 10 in Corona Mountain. These coins could be anywhere on the map in places you least expect them to be. Plus certain blue coins only spawn in certain episodes so have fun with that.

There’s a Meatwad Luma in there too but the website’s avatar space cuts him off.
And now, because I’m bored, a quick thought on why the future of Pokémon is brighter than it may seem (at least a little). Long post incoming!

Galar lacked in graphics, interesting region design, and entertaining or even thoughtful story. To me personally, these are it’s biggest problems.

The graphics will definitely be improved in gen 9. Sword and Shield clearly runs on the gen 7 engine, which was built for the 3DS and looks fine on that system. New generations (with a few exceptions) tend to have new engines made, and a new engine would surely be optimized for the switch. Besides, look at the graphical jump from gen 6 to 7. I’m not saying it’ll look incredible but it should look like a game meant for the switch, unlike certain parts of gen 8.

The Pokémon series is clearly gearing up for open world. Many believe the wild area was the first step, but the real first step was Poni Plains inSun/Moon. An open-ish area that was obviously meant to test what more open Pokémon route design could be. The wild area is step 2, and while exploring it is fun for a while the lack of interesting new things to do means it gets sort of old. No real story events take place within the wild area, it’s really just an open playground for you to hang out in between story beats. The isle of armor (and the upcoming crown tundra) are the third step. Applying stories to open areas. If generation 9 isn’t fully open world I’ll eat my favorite hat.

Galar has a really lame story. And while there’s no real evidence towards gen 9’s story being any better, I have noticed a bit of a pattern since generation 5. Odd numbered generations have more story focus, with deeper character interactions and development. While even numbered gen stories are more...by the numbers Pokemon fare. Think about the stories of Unova and Alola, the character arcs, the themes addressed, the questions asked. Then think about Kalos and Galar. They have interesting ideas sure, but the characters (in XY’s case specifically) feel lacking and I just don’t think they’re executed to well.
This is basically a conspiracy theory but if gen 9 keeps up with the trend the story should at least be better than gen 8’s. Not that surpassing Galar’s plot is very hard.

Now obviously I can’t see the future. Gen 9 could come out and look like an N64 game with hallway routes and a story to rival Sonic 06’s. But I think things’ll get better. The more used to a system the developers get the better the games get. From gen 4 to gen 5 on the DS, from gen 6 to gen 7 on the 3DS. You don’t have to take my word for it, and I’m not saying they’ll be these incredible mindblowing games that’ll change your life, but I think some (not all) of Sw/Sh’s problems are temporary.

If you got this far thanks for reading this boredom inspired post.

I go by Frylock, and in regards to our positions it appears I am the uppermost. I will now assault you, much resembling the way a member of law enforcement may. Meatwad, my good companion, it seems you are next in line. Accompanied by your repeated door summons.

Meatwad has acquired a large sum of wealth, Meatwad is also quite lucky when it comes to the ladies. Traveling from one area to another in his automobile, experiencing life akin to how a celebrity would. There are bits of frozen water on his various appendages. His horoscope is Taurus.

No matter how hard you try you’ll always fail.

Death is inevitable, so there’s no point trying.

Just give up and wait till the end.

Time to put my little spin to it. "No matter how hard you try you'll always fail." You'll always learn from your failure. "Death is inevitable, so there’s no point trying." then appreciate life in the precious way that it is. "Just give up and wait till the end." Now, where's the fun in that? "Happiness is an illusion, love is fake." Huh, I wonder if all those Banjo reactions were fake then XD. Unless you are referring to the fact that a human being is never satisfied so they will never stay happy. In this modern world, it could seem like love is fake. But last time I checked, we are all here because we LOVE Smash Bros. and Sakurai put a lot of LOVE into the franchise.
