  • I'm the only one capable of 3 stocking someone and still feeling I played bad.

And still somehow manage to lose the set.
****ing hate people that sit still the entire match, they only make the match go longer

I just have a weird understanding of what camping really is. For me, it's mostly projectiles and never approaching.
Smash Ultimate is literally the ultimate cursed reality where mediocre players have their chance at being """"good""", especially with lockdown and online.

    It's perfectly orchestrated.
Is it normal people on the US are even worse on wifi? Half the people I play just spam taunts and **** around. They're not even playing, they're basically just trolling. Must've played like 10 players like that. And then I played some that seemed like they were taking it seriously and just started ****ing around the moment you started beating them.

    what the hell
I love Zelda. Not romantically, I like to think. I really like how beautiful, and I hate how lowlives sexualise her. She's beautiful, and prestine, with not an ounce of sexuality showing.

I like seeing her, her lovely smile. It's how I became a Zelda main since then, and I became very involved with Ultimate as a whole (I didn't care much before then)... but then it's also why I keep coming back, and why I feel I can't quit.

It makes me sad when I can't do well at the game. I don't know why it brings me down so much.
I hate how much my brain eats on my performance on playing well. It shouldn't be this ridiculous. I drop literally everything, and I get punished for it.
Why the **** is Sephiroth stabbing the ground next to Zelda.
Just finished practicing MinMin. This character is ****ing insane. It's crazy the kind of things she can do with the different arms to extend her combos. She really is a super technical character. :ultminmin

Had to drop there before passing out or my hands dying first. :halfsheep:

I ditched online. I'm only playing offline and I still think she's really good.

Yeah she's at least high tier for sure.
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
yeah don't get me wrong she's annoying as hell on wifi, all people do is stretchy arms (then gain, this is wifi). I tried that offline and my friend just went over there like 90% of the time. Like, casually.
Is there any hope for Bandanana Dee or this only 3rd party.
    RealPokeFan11

I mean... we got Min Min, who is first party and was also promoted from a spirit to fighter, so I'd say the doors are open for Bandana Dee.

thank I really want him to get in it's also from one of Sakurai's main game series
Lowkey want to actually try out Minx2, but I don't know if that alone is worth 6 dollars.
At the end of the day, I simply love Smash- and especially Ultimate, which is very ironic. What is probably my most favourite Smash game has the things I most hate.
Why is Bowser considered better in Ultimate than in Smash 4? In Smash 4, he basically had his own "ding dong" combo that could kill under 100 (much like DK) with a really big window on all characters. His Up B was Frame 6 as it's always been, and the only real difference is that his Side B is like 2 frames faster, but then it killed a lot better in Smash 4.

He's super strong. He's very hard hitting with good speed and Tough Guy. What more could you ask for?

What changed is aerials became safer, dash cancelling attacks became an option and grabs became unsafe. A character with a strong command grab, big, powerful aerial attacks and strong Smash attacks that can be cancelled out of a fast running speed is going to get stronger from that.
Ultimate online is a literal insult. Thank God I didn't pay an actual 20 dollars for it.
Quitting online for good. It's ****ing worth it. There's no way I'll get better playing online, and it's not like I even enjoy it half the time. It's horrendously bad, and no respectable player deserves it.
I don't think I really understand why MKLeo uses Byleth instead of Joker online. Joker can very much play like a wifi character by just doing Ea > Dash Attack/Dash Grab like the tons of bad wifi Jokers I've seen (sadly, it works). Now imagine someone that actually knows how to use him.

Byleth's actually not even good on wifi. They're worse. Precision and spacing goes down, and it's not like MKLeo abuses dumb things like overusing Smash attacks or Side B.

It's called playing who you like.
    Oz o:

No, it isn't. He didn't drop Joker on wifi for no reason.

If he's good at it, he's good. I main Bowser because I'm good at him. I would take up another main if I found that I was better with them.
Curses are real, just not in the way we'd normally understand them. For all you know, you could be cursed and not know it. You'll just understand it as "bad luck" or "coincidences".

We aren't punished for our sins, we are punish by our sins.
    DrCoeloCephalo
    DrCoeloCephalo
    Isn't that just called "karma"?
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
No, it isn't "just" karma. It's many things by different names. "bad luck", "coincidences", etc.
I feel Ultimate lowkey rewards panic options (panic airdodges, rolls, etc.) more than it punishes you for it. And here I am, getting punished for either dashing forward or not mashing said panic options...

Spotdodge canceling is a key example of this. No other smash game rewards you for spotdodging on reaction as much as Ultimate.

    Such a stupid mechanic.
    Oz o:
    Oz o:
Omar_25 Omar_25 I can't say I suffered as much from that mechanic as I have heard people online claim it's as broken as they say it is. Maybe it's partly due to how used I am to punishing spotdodges. If you have a character that doesn't have an extremely slow Smash attack, you kind of just start charging a Smash attack (especially easier with multihits). I personally struggle more with the other mechanics, because they make it a lot harder for me to read between airdodges and attacks, something I'm very used to from other games.

The thing with spotdodge in general is that it can become a lot more annoying online when you play very mash players that spam these options, and I do feel it there a lot more.
    Omar_25
    Omar_25
When I was playing Ult consistently I mainly played offline, so my complaints aren't based off of online gameplay.

Yeah, I'm aware of counter play to spotdodges. I just think the window for punishing them is waaaay too small because of spotdodge canceling. I also feel like it, along with the removal of ending lag on like every move in the game, encourages people to play a very non-committal style where they prefer to mash safe buttons instead of actually think about their actions.
"why did you leave a bag of **** on their door step"
    - it was a metaphor
    "for what?"
    - "you're full of ****"
Haven't touched wifi in two weeks and my life is better. That **** ruins lives.

Only touched Smash Ultimate wifi last week after about 4 months of not touching Ultimate at all. Unsurprising to find I was missing out on nothing.

I wish I did that 7 months ago. I would probably even be playing better, sadly enough. I wouldn't go as far as to never touch Ultimate, though- just wifi.

Project M helps me scratch my Smash itches and it's monumentally less frustrating to play even offline. Otherwise, I have other games to play.
Online is so horrendously trash, and I'm so glad I dropped it entirely. In 7 months, I could have literally been playing better if I outright stopped playing online and just sticked to offline, even if it's just Training Mode and CPUs. Everyone online thinks they're the ****, when they're all just a bunch of carried ****ty players. You're nothing offline, where the real game exists, so just be grateful we're all bound to this ****ty system.

I never hated the game until online was my only choice. I'll never get how people supposedly improve playing in those horrid conditions where it feels you're on a wheel chair while every bad player just thrives on it.

I stopped playing online during the Smash 4 days because the lag really bothered me. I had a 75% win rate yet most of the loses I did had were from cheap lag slow downs. I might just play in a local tournament sometime instead of going online again.

I take that option 100% of the time... if it were an actual option, right now.

I've played online during Smash 4, and I feel it wasn't nearly as bad. Ultimate already has more built-in input lag as it is, and when you combine it with big buffer windows, low cooldown moves, it really does allow bad players to get away with dumb things that should never work. It's discouraging for anyone that has been playing for a while that actually had to work to hone their skill. It's an insult, really...

And there were times where I literally played through actual wifi from the other room in Smash 4 and it was still a better experience I have now, even with a LAN adapter.
If you're new to Smash and want a game that rewards you for not busting your ass, Ultimate is the game for you.
Smash Ultimate is very frustrating to me. It frustrates me how it's easy for everyone else, and I, someone who has played competitive for years, have a hard time doing well at the game. It's demorilizing how people who've only picked up the game within months can do as well without needing to have put nearly as much time and effort (especially all the emotional investment that went with it). Newer players should be grateful that this new game gives you these things in a silver platter without having to have had gone through any of this.

You don't know how it feels.

If you've built up on the hours like I have, it just starts grinding on you whether you're concious of it or not. It's really hard to tell, until offline events really come back.

And no, I don't take anything of what you say the wrong way.

I feel the same way about a lot of things. Sometimes it's smaller, like "Where will people put Min Min on an offline tier list?" And it's also bigger stuff, like what you said-it can get difficult to tell if you, the game, or the connection is the problem. (Sorry, I couldn't tell you were talking about online, that's why I referred to offline at first). I urge you do find some way to enjoy online more, as I assume it's all we've got for the long haul. Whether that be playing with items, investing in a LAN adapter (if you don't already have one), trying new characters, finding a smallish smash group around your skill level with a good connection on Discord or Facebook, etc. Whatever you can do to make Smash more fun over the internet. Stay away from Quickplay and Elite Smash as often as you can-it never does anything good unless you're playing with items or something like that. (At least, in my opinion).

Yeah, Quickplay is trash. I often play it, and it has a lot to do with my opinion. I undertstand I'm partly responsible, since I keep going there, but at the same time, you can't really blame me for wanting to have fun once in a while- but even that is hard at times. It's hard to have fun when you're losing to worse players or misinputting or misbuffering half the match.
