  • I'm just "that'd be rad!" about Ashley rather than a die-hard supporter, but I really want to see her and Red get in just because of how much people give her the shaft for dumb reasons - like, have you seen how much people bully Ashley supporters? it's genuinely concerning.

Such is the price of a character getting more noticed by fan support over time: haters get attracted to them like bears to honey.

Now don't get me wrong, I prefer Mona or Jimmy T to get in first, but it's still a shame for Ashley supporters to get heat like this.

I hate it when detractors call us Krystal fans horny furries or us Shantae fans hentai lovers. I swear, female characters especially popular ones have the worst detractors in the community.
Jake Paul owning illegal firearms is not surprising in the slightest.

He should be wealthy enough to BS his way into getting a Class III license.
All ya gotta do is open a gun store, and you can own pretty much anything.

I'm more concerned that he has a house that looks like that one property from GTA:Vice City. Why do people like him get to make that kind of money ****posting on Youtube or whatever he does?
As a non-competitive player, I feel SBF and PS2 are distinct enough to share spots on the competitive stagelist (same with Hazards-On and Hazards-Off Smashville), but being a filthy casual I'm not exactly the best voice to listen to.

I'm still pissed that Mushroom Kingdom U is "too big".
But this is the same competitive community that banned Unova because it has a slant on the bottom of the stage that slightly inconveniences Palutena (the most used character at the time).

    *Points to Zelda and Mewtwo*

    Unova is the devil.
    >People defending bans for bad connection

Seriously? I'd take all the lag in the world over not letting everyone play.

    StoicPhantom
I think that depends on the context. If we're talking about someone that has no other choice, then yeah that sucks, but it also is the unfortunate reality of trying to play in an environment your infrastructure isn't suited for. If we're talking about those people that refuse to spend five bucks on a LAN adapter/cable for their competitive game and then gloat online about it, then I can't say I really feel bad about it :b

But really, every modern competitive game should have connection filters that prevent this from being an issue. I don't mind waiting a little longer for a match if I'm guaranteed a semi-decent connection.
Tried to make a noplat distinct from FD but still competitive, based on the classic GBA game Kuru Kuru Kururin

JonTron's Bubsy video, though funny, becomes really hard to watch when you're a die-hard Bubsy fan and know almost everything there is to know about the series. He gets so much wrong, even for a review intended solely for comedy there's a lot of research failure. (especially since the best jokes in such reviews are usually just the bizarre facts)

I'm still grateful for it memeing Bubsy back to life through.

Anything he memes becomes relevant. That's Jontron for you.
I don't get why Small Battlefield didn't use the FD aesthetics instead of BF, call it "First Destination" or something like that. "Penultimate Destination".

They're saving that aesthetic for when they port over the final boss stage from Spirits Mode :bigthink:
If they had a Panel De Pon stage, it'd be cool if it shared the Yoshi songlist for Tetris Attack fans like me, so PDP songs can play on Yoshi stages and Yoshi songs can play on the PDP stage.
I love Nabbit, he's one of my favourite Mario characters and I'm really glad he exists, but I can't help but feel his debut role could've been filled by Wario, same with Waluigi and Captain Syrup.
I wish Black Forest put the same love they put into Destroy All Humans into Bubsy.

With BFBB I'd say Purple Lamp cared a lot, but Nick... nope, they did not care in the slightest. Nick has a LONG history of being really bad for creators - look up "Bye Bye Beavers" if you don't believe me.

Oh, I know of that all too well. To say nothing of how badly Invader Zim got screwed over out of ITS planned finale (though luckily that eventually was remedied after the fact).

Cartoon Network is has been bad towards creators too. There was a planned Season 6 of the original Teen Titans, but Cartoon Network decided to cancel it because they thought Teen Titans wasn't doing well enough. Plus there was several cut episodes from Season 5 and there was a storyline of Slade returning and teaming up with the Brother Hood of Evil. I think Slade was the one that sent that robot or thing after the Titans in the last episode which is why the original series ended on such a questionable cliffhanger because the last episode was part of that cut storyline.

Plus Cartoon Network cancelled Sym-Bionic Titan because the toys didn't do well enough so they made the ***** decision to cancel the series.
Even if you think obscure first parties should stay as far away from modern Smash as possible (and in that case you're objectively wrong) we can all agree Beach should be a music track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A80dmIbJhX0

Oh no, I'm not thinking of Plok (he isn't even a first party despite being publised by Nintendo in some regions), the link is a song from Mole Mania - that being said, Plok in Smash would be amazing, especially with his music.
Shaun the Sheep: Home Sheep Home is a really good game. It's a physics puzzle platformer in the style of The Lost Vikings (3 characters you swap out, each with strengths and weaknesses) and has some pretty tricky brain-teasers. However, it's pretty short and I'd find it easier to recommend if you have some spare My Nintendo points. The "party" mode is also multiplayer only, which judging by the game's subtitle of "Party Edition" might be a major part I'm missing.
I don't think I've ever felt more cheated than when I found out Bullet Bill, Goomba and "Warupichi" were cut from Mario Tennis
I love how pathetically weak Doomguy is according to the Vs. Battles wiki. Main series Doomguy's highest possible tier is 7-A, remember: there are 11 tiers and, with the exception of Tier 11, they go from weakest to strongest.

Big the Cat is a 5-B.

This is an unfair comparison. Melee Fox is comparable to a god, while Krool is so terrible, he only wins if he's super lucky.

COMPETITIVE Melee Fox is not a god by any means, he has weaknesses, but overall is the best in the game. Ultimate K. Rool in CASUAL PLAY (as in ITEMS ON) is the same.
I hate how people say "innocent civilians" and stuff like that - because yeah, drone strikes and war crimes are TOTALLY OK if they're on convicted felons, amirite?
One of the game projects I have planned has a main character who uses a sword, so if Sakurai asked me "ya' want your character in the game?", I'd just say "do this instead, I don't want royalties, nor do I expect credit." and send him a fully fleshed-out Bubsy moveset GDD, along with the contact info for his copyright holders.

I too have a protagonist I designed with a sword.
He barely uses it, preferring hand-to-hand combat, but it IS there. Kinda like Captain Falcon's gun.

Mine is a human-shaped creature created in the lab by mixing the genomes of all living things on Earth. I named his species "Ultra".
Often when a cartoonish character is drawn next to a more realistic one you can tell from a quick glance which art style the artist is more familiar with.
I still think Waluigi's trailer should be an FE fake out. Imagine the pure disappointment at a new FE rep, and the transformation into Waluigi hype - there would be some of the most amazing facial expressions.

Also, sweet karmic schadenfreude for the "hoes mad" crowd as the tables get turned.
Sometimes I like Googling things I know the names of but in a way that makes it seem like I don't know the name of it. You'd be surprised by how hard it is for Google to identify what "cartoon game with cups" means.

^Not new or unique to Tiktok, tons of big data companies have been doing the same for years. Amazon, Google, Facebook, Twitter keep an insane amount of data about users. I guess the difference is that the US government could more easily regulate those companies/apps, but they're not even trying to do that. So idk why Americans should be all up in arms about Tiktok in particular other than xenophobia.

Data collection isn't just about what products you buy or what sites you visit, but about your biases and underlying behaviors that affect what you do, think, and believe. It's more about constructing social models of users to better figure out how to construct viral content that will subsequently net greater amounts of ad revenue. And they do so by building profiles on how you react, share, and view content in order to better influence what content gets recommended to you on what platform or by what creator for the purpose of pushing you towards certain influences.

And that means reverse-engineering these models to influence public opinion is possible and has happened. That's what the whole Cambridge Analytica scandal was about. Influencing public opinion is how you rig democracy in your favor. And that's why it's dangerous to let a foreign adversary have access to those kinds of models and data that can influence public opinion. The alarming amount of fake news and conspiracy theories that have been proliferated by Facebook et al. is proof of how powerful these types of models are and why you wouldn't want China to have access to that. Facebook et al. doing all of those things as well is an argument for dismantling social media; not a defense of TikTok.

And given TikTok is the next evolution in the exploitation of social media users and influencers for the profit of these data companies: it should be opposed on moral grounds anyways.
Remember when everybody wanted Hawlucha in Smash for no reason at all? Pokemon Smash speculation is very flavour of the month, I don't think there are that many fans who are specifically devoted to getting one Pokemon in the game - except maybe Eevee fans - everybody just gets hyped up about a single Pokemon for a short amount of time, then moves on to the next.
I decided to buy the original Doom on Switch, I'm really not sure if I'll like it, but it is pretty funny how juxtaposed it is against all the other, more cute and colourful games on my Switch menu.
The more simple a character's game of origin is, the more likely they are to have a super complex set of tools - Min Min, Pac-Man, Ice Climbers...

God help us when we get a Rhythm Heaven rep.
