Robin's backstory, Chopper's Backstory and the Skypiea flashback as well as a few scenes later on made me sob harder than I would have expected to while watching this show.

Biggest sobbing moments for me were Chopper's flashback (two individual parts from it to be specific), the very last scene of the Alabasta arc, and the revelation of what Usopp saw that one night back in Skypiea. I seriously can't think of any other show that has made me cry this much.

I told you Robin had the saddest backstory. Now there is another backstory WAY later on that is almost as tragic and is the longest backstory in the series. I won't say who's backstory it is, but I'll just say it had Roger in it as well as some other major pirates in the story during their prime so we get to learn some history about Roger. Though the flashback is about somebody else.

This is the part of the story where you realize the World Government is seriously the main villain of the show. Before, it was just one or two corrupt individuals acting as the villains, but now things are getting serious

Robin's cry for help was the exact moment where I went from "One Piece is alright" to "I would die for this series". Franky's reaction sums it up.

Champion of Hyrule Champion of Hyrule true but there are good and bad Marines and pirates in the One Piece world. The Water 7 Saga is where you start to see that.
