  • The character of Shadow kinda confuses me - he was created to be the ultimate life form - so they made him a hedgehog? a prey animal that only eats insects, and spends all its time bathing in poop? surely you'd make him some kinda' apex predator - a whale, a crocodile, a tiger, a polar bear, maybe even a human? or some indestructible creature like a tardigrade or lobster? something super strong like a dung beetle, a gorilla, or an ant? but no, silly old Gerald made him a hedgehog, a pathetic insectivore that is born blind.
Is it just me or do a lot of video game history YouTube videos seem a little patronising? - like, you don't have to go "Wonderswan, eh? betcha' never hearda' that one!"

A lot of times I already know about the history of the game or the franchise I'm watching a documentary about. But I do find them entertaining to watch.

Sometimes for a weird reason, it can be entertaining to watch facts about games, even when you already know the facts. Unless the video is just a list of facts, and you know all of them, or you've already heard the fact worded in the same way the video does
I kinda wish streaming services would have "random episode" options for episodic series. That'd be super nostalgic.
If we're to believe infinite universe theory, that means there's a universe where Mr. Krabs is in Smash, no other Nickelodeon or non-game characters, JUST Krabs.
I know the Villagers in the newer AC games are supposed to be older, but I still can't help but find the presence of things like balding hair and beards a little weird. Glad they went with the earlier games' designs for Smash.
Melee is in a weird limbo of quality since it kinda falls into the "so bad it's good" category, but not in a comedic or nostalgic way and more that the game's flaws are it's greatest strengths, I can't think of any other media that has that quality, let alone games
Idea: an RPG party member who's completely useless in battle but such a good emotional support you'll like having them around anyway.
When I saw the MinMin leak I burst into laughter at the text being the wrong font - like, you could literally make a Mii called "Min Min" and rip the text from there - why of all things do you need to improvise the TEXT?
Why's everyone posting song lyrics? may as well give it a go myself

    Are you ready, Bob?
    Yes!
    What about you. Lofty?
    I'm a bit scared
    Okay, team, let's go!

    One, two, three, four, five
Everybody's outside, so come on let's ride
To the builder's yard around the corner
The gang's all here and it's time for us to do what we wanna
There's a house with a roof that leaks
It's an urgent job and it could take us weeks
There's Dizzy, Lofty, and Rolly too (That's me!)
And Wendy always knows just what to do (That's right)
And there's no job too big or small
With Scoop and Muck we can do it all (Yeah!)
Metal, brick, or wood - it's all good
And we can always send in the tractor

A little bit of timber and a saw
A little bit of fixing that's for sure
A little bit of digging up the roads
A little bit of moving heavy loads
A little bit of tiling on the roof
A little bit of making waterproof
A little bit of concrete mixed with sand
A little bit of Bob the Builder man

Jump up and down and move it all around
Mix it up to the sound
Dig a hole in the ground
    Take one step left
    And one step right (Okay)
    One to the front (Right)
And one to the side (Yes)
Clap your hands once and clap your hands twice
And if it looks like this then you're doing it right

A little bit of timber and a saw
A little bit of fixing that's for sure
A little bit of digging up the roads
A little bit of moving heavy loads
A little bit of tiling on the roof
A little bit of making waterproof
A little bit of concrete mixed with sand
A little bit of Bob the Builder man

Mambo number six and seven, eight

    Mambo Number Five!

There's Rolly, Lofty, Scoop, Muck, and Dizzy
So much work to keep us all busy
And can we fix it? Yes, we can!
With the team and Bob the Builder man

A little bit of Bob, Bob the Builder man
I'm watching Teacher's Pet on Disney Plus and my god the sound design is horrible. There are like 4 uses of the same "DUN DUN DUUUN!" sound effect and 2 Diddy Laughs in the first episode alone. Art style and voice acting are amazing, but writing is very "generic kids' show"
I think the one character I understand the Smash support for the least is Conker. Conker's whole identity is built from that giant "M" rating plastered on the box, take that away - no pissing, no drinking, no blood, no sex - and you're just left with another generic animal mascot, with his only real difference being that he has slightly more violent and realistic weapons.
Wait, doesn't Hero's trailer imply Kirby wasn't the sole survivor? because if so that could explain why certain characters were missing as Spirits - they survived and were either too chicken, too evil or too non-sapient to fight back.
The Game Gear Micro looks like something you'd see in a meme.
I often forget things people tell me in mere seconds, yet I can somehow remember the lyrics of a Stanley the Bugman-themed ironic DK Rap parody with only 3 thousand views I haven't heard in half a year perfectly.
I figured out how to delete Byleth from SSBU, through I'd only recommend it to people who have the cartridge version of the game. press "Delete Software" (don't worry, the save data stays), go back to the eShop and redownload the FP characters and Mii costumes you want to keep. Just note that the game will have to redownload updates as well, but it only takes about 20 minutes. Feels so much better to play Smash with one less FE character plaguing the CSS and Problem Solverz world gone from the SSS.

Should note that it replaces recent DLC Spirits (ones that have yet to appear in the in-game shop) with a generic symbol - through strangely enough the Spirits you may have unlocked from a cut character's Spirit board stay, I don't mind through.
I unironically believe Pac-Land is the best stage in Smash history.

I don't have many IRL friends.
To me the true hero of World of Light is not Kirby or Sonic, but the duck from Duck Hunt. An utter legend of an avian, willing to not only forgive his once-mortal enemy, but also be willing to try and rescue him even in an impossible scenario without thinking a single bit about the past. Of course, the Duck Hunt duck probably doesn't get the same attention as Sonic because he doesn't have as much of a loyal fanbase - there are no Duck Hunt fansites closing down because of authors saying the plot of the latest Duck Hunt game is comparable to political protests, nor are there any super-edgy-yet-easily-offended YouTubers making 10 minute long videos analysing the quote-unquote "twisted mental psyche" of people who find the Duck Hunt dog's feet attractive - but we really should appreciate this duck as the utter legend he is. According to the Heroism Wiki, forgiveness is "perhaps the hardest thing that anyone can do", and includes such beautiful examples as "Squidward apologizes to SpongeBob for playing a nasty prank on him at the Krusty Krab." and "Emma apologizing to Noah for dumping him and they reconcile, continuing their relationship because she can't focus on romance during the competition." - Who are Emma and Noah? I don't know, but we have to respect their pure heroism. The Heroism Wiki also includes articles on other great heroic topics like "Screaming and Falling" and "Benevolent Pigs". Real legend, that duck.

This began completely earnest but quickly turned ironic.
animal Sonic characters fall into different layers of recognisability as an animal

The ones that are instantly recognisable as their species - Tails, Vector
The ones you could figure out with a quick inspection - Sonic himself, Blaze
The ones that look like one species but are actually another - Fang (jerboa), Bean (woodpecker)
The ones that don't even look like any specific animal - Knuckles, Sticks
    Whatever Rouge is
and the ones that aren't animals - Eggman, Chaos
Sonic's design is great and iconic, but kinda falls flat as a hedgehog design. If you showed someone who doesn't know what a video game is Sonic's design without context they'd probably assume he's a cat with a mohawk - it's not as bad as Crash Bandicoot through, but to be fair Crash was never designed with a species in mind beyond simply "marsupial".
if Mario has to be angry in Smash so people will take the series seriously, why not give him equal billing to an angry Link instead? A cover that depicts a joyful Mario standing alongside a more competitive Link would perfectly reflect both sides of Smash, both character- and gameplay-wise.
How about a Sword and Shield stage which gives the illusion fighters are Gigantamaxed? could make a fun competitive legal stage

I'm not saying they should have Gigantamax designs, just that the background should look small, creating the illusion fighters are giant.

If they don't change forms then its called dynamaxing, but I love the idea. Bonus points if fighters get their voices deepened and little storm clouds above their heads.

Alternatively the stage could cause players to get the super mushroom power up in certain conditions, like if they stand on a glowing "power spot" or something.

Ahh, I just assumed Gigantamaxing was the same but bigger and with some different designs here and there.
When it comes to Smash I'm generally in the "be grateful for what you've got" camp, but I never got the logic behind "*POPULAR CHARACTER X* got in, be grateful instead of campaigning for *POPULAR CHARACTER Y*!"

Like, you do know that not everyone who wanted *POPULAR CHARACTER X* also wants *POPULAR CHARACTER Y*, right?

Yeah, especially the "fact" that according to Smash fan polls, SNK supporters didn't exist until recently. The hardcore scene has the issue of being a tad out of touch with the casual fans.

KirbyWorshipper2465 KirbyWorshipper2465 that and the Castlevania supporters. A lot of people either overlook or refuse to acknowledge that Simon and Richter got in because of the Ballot and Sakurai said it himself. I guess some people refuse to acknowledge this because they or Alucard literally wasn't anywhere at the top of online polls but yet the man himself said Castvania did extraordinarily well in the Ballot like Ridley and K. Rool. It's true, never underestimate the causal crowd.

You do know Banjo and Kazooie eventually got in when Hero stole slot #2, right?
