That is a really tricky situation tbh. Even more so if you don't have the full picture. If this isn't normal with him then there might legitimately be something wrong.

Maybe see if another friend can fill you in on what you missed in private. Then try apologizing to the angry friend and see if you can coax him into telling you what is on his mind (don't be forceful about it). It's very likely you won't be able to do anything about it but it might make him feel better to talk to someone about it.

If it's something very serious that may be life threatening (suicidal, abuse, etc) then you should tell your parents about it.

It's probably something you should talk to your parents about anyways because Smashboards doesn't know your friend or his situation and we aren't exactly professionals when it comes to this type of stuff.
