  • Considering how people still find new data and secrets to games like SMB1, SM64, the Classic Sonics, Doom, e.t.c. - can you imagine if we put all that time and effort into games nobody cares about or likes? what sorta stuff would we find then?
The iDubbbz controversy almost seems poetic in a way, he built his whole YouTube empire off being P.I., offensive and edgy, and as such his fanbase turned on him just for wanting a wholesome relationship.
My ideal Mario All-Stars 2 would have all the main 3D games including 3D Land remade using the old code when applicable but new graphics (sans Odyssey and 3D World, the prior of which is excluded and the latter is just a port), as well as direct ports of every main 2D game (sans Wario Land, Yoshi's Island, the Maker games and NSMBU) with traditional emulator features (save states, rewind, maybe a challenge mode and achievements).

Also, there'd be extra characters, Sonic 2 and Knuckles style, for certain games, every game would have Luigi playable in some form, and Peach for every 2D game except Land 1 and 2, which get Daisy.

There'd also be DK in SMB1 and Lost Levels, who is MUCH slower but can also Goomba stomp on any enemy, Link in Mario 3 with his SMM2 moveset, Wario in Mario Land 2 with the shoulder bash, Pikachu in Mario 64 with a unique moveset of his own and his classic "fat" design, and possibly Sonic in Mario World if Sega are on board.

SMB3's e-Reader levels would be included.
90s video game localisers really didn't like having their world-dominating villains being named after animal sourced foods, did they?
I'd make an absolutely awful streamer/let's player - when I play games I just sit there quietly and occasionally if a joke or funny voice comes into my head I say it out loud.

Maybe I could make some sort of fun Channel a-la Game Grumps with my friends since we love to comment and laugh about a lot of stuff while playing games together.

Our sessions playing Co-op Cuphead always ends Up with loads of laughs and new inside jokes.

Commentating is a skill. You only think you would be awful because you'd need practice, just like everyone else.
Saying this because of the ProfasiaGaming threats: I have more respect for people who commit international felonies than I have for people who contribute to sites like "Toxic Fandoms wiki" and "Atrocious YouTubers wiki".

I know Profasia’s, like, one of the worst YouTubers ever, but are you seriously going to let him go through a traumatic experience because of his reputation online?

And no, I’m NOT defending Profasia. I’m trying to spark some common sense.
All the Common Sense Media reviews for Nature Cat are by the exact same person, who has used multiple accounts on different website to build this elaborate Roxy the Street Shark-level lie about Nature Cat being a reboot of a show that doesn't exist called "Fred and the Nature Gang". You can tell the same person is doing these reviews by their very liberal use of the word "brat".
I'm currently watching The Critic, an adult cartoon from the 90s by the same people who did the Simpsons in its golden age. Some of the jokes have not aged well, but the ones that have are amazingly funny. There's a really good laughs-per-minute ratio as well!
on Drawception I got a prompt which was "rosealina[sic] in a bikini at the beach".

I drew Rosalina, fully clothed, going to Goo Lagoon.
I've seen people complain about Fixed Rilla Roo as Beenox "drawing attention" to their previous failure with the character - why is that a bad thing? isn't it a good thing to admit "we ****ed up" and have a little laugh about it?

When Rilla Roo was first added to CTR, he had a rather weird looking mouth that was too high-up on his face and a personality slightly unlike fan perception of the character - in the latest CTR update they released a fixed version of him as a new character literally called "Fixed Rilla Roo", available for free for anyone who unlocked the previous Rilla Roo and available on the Pit Stop for anyone who hasn't, with a mouth placed lower, more frequent use of his ">:o" face, a small amount of animations and new recolours.

You can't please everyone, some people will always get mad about something, no matter what anyone wants. Reap what you sow, etc...Bad enough that people get mad at the Nitro Squad just for existing. Beenox really deserve a medal for putting up with all that verbal abuse.

At least no one complains about Geary lacking a legendary skin anymore.

    Oh, I see.

Seems like a funny little nod.
ARMS? really? Waluigi's getting closer! hoping for Byte and Barq, or anyone but Twintelle really.

Not sure who I want to pick for ARMS. I wanted Springman since the beginning, but now he's an AT, so I'm thinking maybe Min Min Kid Cobra or Helix. Dr Coyle would also be cool.

I'm assuming with Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Min Min, Twintelle, and Ninjara as an assist trophy and spirits, respectively, they'll be disqualified from being the newcomer, unless Sakurai breaks the rules and upgrades one of them to playable. I'd love personally to see Max Brass, but any ARMS rep is great to me, love seeing a new IP playable in Smash with a new stage and music to go with it.

I just don’t wanna see Helix. Min Min, Ninjara and Ribbon Girl are my top 3 choices
Fun fact: if you've ever seen that picture of a middle eastern fish and chips shop called "Frying Nemo", the picture on its' sign is taken from a Peta poster.

    That backfired, didn't it?
I never got why people worship the Falcon Punch, even in casual play it's an extremely laggy, situational move that any counter user can take advantage of.
Why is Hans Zimmer composing the new SpongeBob movie? you can't get Hans Zimmer for SpongeBob, it's GOTTA be public domain pirate songs.
Pikmin fans: Ugh, when will we get Pikmin 4?
Mother fans: At least you got a spin-off!
F-Zero fans: At least they still make merchandise for you!
Golden Sun fans: At least you got in Smash!
Mole Mania fans: At least you got a sequel!
Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls fans: At least you got a localisation!
CatRoots fans: At least your game was released!
Game idea: You play as a writer for a children's cartoon - your job is to come up with title card puns from a given theme, the more obscure the reference and the better the pun flows the more points you get.
I wonder if Sumo Digital ever regret adding the "Sonic Says" tips to the loading screens of Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing...
The MUGEN community is really bad at encouraging young creators, I was put off creating anything publicly for quite some time because of the toxicity towards my MUGEN creations - looking back on them, I'm rather proud. They had some fun concepts, like fighting ON the character select screen.

No one successfully convinced Ahruon and Orkimides to compromise anything for Card Sagas War. Result: we only got a demo out of the deal due to total memory issue.
I personally believe the worst Sonic game to be the 3DS port of All-Stars Transformed. It's extremely laggy and frequently crashes at the exact same point. I'd only recommend it to people who are interested in game prototypes.
I've said this many times, but nothing will ever be more hilarious to me than edgy teens saying they're "P.I." and "unoffendable" then throwing a huge hissy fit over kink art. Like, does someone you don't know getting off to a drawing of a fictional animal child from a video game farting really attack your fundamental values that much?
Normally Nintendo takedowns are followed by the announcement of a similar product, but in the case of the Dreams takedowns I have no clue what they could possibly be announcing - My best guess is that they just don't want Mario appearing on PS4.

Not once in the article does it specify hiring opportunities. The term "business opportunities" can mean making money just as easily. And considering they're using terms like "monetize", it's pretty easy to tell they mean making money.

BTW I'm done with this thread. At this point I don't think anything we could say would amount to anything but the equivalent of throwing pebbles at skyscrapers. Making it pointless to continue.

For real, no more replies from me.

Checked the article in full, they stated quite clearly that only certain projects are applicable for monetisation - while they never specified anything about copyrighted content, they wouldn't NEED to either because that'd be like saying the sky is blue. Also, I'd imagine creators could opt out of monetisation if they so desired, yet again, a case of "sky is blue".

    (yeah, ninja'd, I know)
