You mean like the RAR displacement? Or in general? I never really mastered the RAR Phantom, but I think it would be pretty big, if I did.

I think both the forward and backward ones are useful (forward is easier). I think RAR refers specifically to the backwards one (Zelda behind phantom) but I like to say forward and backwards DP

Anyway yeah I think it's essential if anyone wants to bring out her full potential. I updated this status because I've been seeing some people downplay the tech saying it's situational. Idk how anyone plays her without it bc I sure can't. It's useful against more than just projectiles too, and the forward version can bait, give more stage control, and also catch roll ins. Really the DP versions just do everything the regular one does but better

I don't play Zelda all that seriously or often but even I have do that tech semi-consistently with the quarter circle method. If even I can do it I'm really surprised more dedicated Zelda mains haven't used it more.

It's because they all wanna ledge cancel instead tbh

LOL well this is awkward

This ties into that comment I left on your video saying how I haven't seen anyone cancel as often and smooth as you. My opinion on ledge cancels has changed a bit since then

I used to feel similiarly about it at one point, like around the first year. But I kept seeing montages of people like TP Nayru and that Nick guy, and finally Katy Parry. If some people were doing it, it had to be possible. There was a point I never saw myself doing it, but here we are.

And I still suck at perfect RAR Phantom, which is something I've always wanted to perfect but never fully dedicated to. If I put even half the time that went into Teleports, I would've had it down by now. RAR Phantom is probably the best thing you can learn for Zelda, because it does at least half the work against projectiles and can even cover you against some disjoints.

Oh yeah I've been spamming that tech since the end of December 2018 after I saw it on Twitter. I got it down almost 100% after a couple weeks and it's second nature to me now. I still see people say it's situational but I disagree since it's essentially Phantom+. Imo it's generally better in every way than a normal one which I rarely do nowadays

There's no way it's really situational. It should be a staple, because it's far better than normal Phantom. People that say you can just jump over and rush her don't take perfect RAR Phantom into account. She just doesn't care about projectiles.

Is seriously need to learn it, but the timing is really weird.

Do you use a Gamecube Controller? I know it's noticeably harder on that one to the point where having a custom control setup for it is somewhat common

yeh, I picked it up about 3 months ago
Can't say it's particularly harder. I never felt the need to switch up my scheme.

Oh that's great. I bet you'll get it quickly then. It's such an awesome tech. I can't even play her properly without it anymore tbh

Well, why would you even need to go back.
I'm going to dedicate to fully mastering it, from now on. I already been practicing a bit, like just a couple of minutes ago. I'm getting a far better hang of it. It's mostly understanding when to do the Down B once you do the full RAR.

My goal is to combine it with Dash Dancing.

I just realized that if you mastered it that might make you one of the most technical Zeldas since you're also good with ledge cancels :o
