Highly doubt about Waluigi though. I don't see him as the first character of season 2 but rather the culmination of the entire DLC. He's just too hyped up about to be revealed in somethung like a simple Direct.

Is it safe to assume the "The Big One" is not Paper Mario? Because that rumor is already kind of widespread at this point. Although surprisingly Paper Mario isn't on this list by name...

@Madame Lesley The one thing that almost everyone agrees on is that 6 is either an incredibly well kept secret or so horribly leaked that everyone has known for like two months. This is why Crash and Dante are really popular predictions because Activision and Capcom are bad at keeping secrets in a legendary sense. As for well kept secrets, in Smash history, the fewer third parties Nintendo has involved with a character, the easier it is to keep secret. This is why characters like K. Rool and Byleth we're all but leak proof, in my opinion.

Lightspeed97 Not Paper Mario. Markomaro was one of the first people to bring up the Paper Mario rumor by name. He's being super vague and, if me and him are on the same page, I can definitely respect that. It's one of those things that if someone outright leaked or even openly talked about rumors for they would be hated for eternity. It's one of those "if you spoil this, you're a terrible person" sort of things and why there's been sort of an unspoken agreement to avoid big hints.

Fatmanonice I see, thanks for clarification. I have a few thoughts about what "The Big RPG" might be, but I don't want to just start dropping guesses here and risking ruining anything. Mind if I share a couple thoughts in DMs?

I respect that. This is also why I've been telling the Geno thread since December "even if you think you know, don't say anything." Kind of like Banjo last year, this deserves to stay a secret as long as possible and, thankfully, the community has kept it a secret since about September. People are being extraordinarily cool about it and I'm super grateful for that.

Sabi did relay info from Zippo a few weeks ago about us possibly getting an Animal Crossing Direct this month. It would line up with this latest rumor.

Meanwhile, Isabelle somehow managed to get leaked, but leakers didn't know she was a unique newcomer until the reveal.

One last thing; don't expect ATs to be promoted, it's best to treat it as such until further notice, since the staff obviously focuses on characters that haven't gotten 3D models. Even expecting them to be the final character is a stretch.

That said, the next two weeks is when it all plays down. If nothing happens, the entire leaker and insider community is going to have a really difficult time recovering.

KirbyWorshipper2465 This is also why I don't like dealing with absolutes. If I'm wrong I'm wrong and also why I don't like backing things 100%. This isn't to be wishy washy, this is recognizing that I'm primarily dealing with rumors and stuff I have no control over. I'm literally a janitor in real life and just know stuff because I network and am generally nice. I try to stay humble because knowing stuff is not a talent. I just have the privilege of accessibility and why I try to be transparent and not hoard info like some weird video game rumor dragon. The community doesn't need "gurus", just people who want to be involved and helpful no matter their "position" in life.

Yeah, it's just too bad that fans have trouble understanding that. I mean, Canadian Guy Eh frequently had to mention that what he says some of the time are theories and shouldn't be taken as gospel.

That being said, it would be quite weird if Nintendo holds off on a general Direct until E3, since we still don't know about their first-party plans for this year beyond AC.

I find this rather interesting. Though I have a two questions.

Miitopia: Would you think that the Miitopia stuff would be a flat-out enhanced port or a full-on sequel?

Dragon Quest: I am aware of Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2 being leaked, but what do you suppose are the chances that the West will finally get Dragon Quest 10? Hero's Final Smash having Ten of all people and finding the Altar of the Undeciphered (The DQ10 Altar) in Tickington in DQ11S seems to have sowed the seeds for the support over such a decision. I'm sure that more than a few fans of Dragon Quest, old veterans or Smash-born newcomers alike, would love to see that game come to the West.

Miitopia: No idea. The rumor was really vague. Like I said, Tomodachi Life was attached to it too because I don't think the source fully understood it either. Port, remaster, or sequel to either game could all honestly qualify. "New Mii game for Switch (Probably)" is the takeaway.

Dragon Quest: No clue. Square Enix is probably one of the most aggressive companies when it comes to leaks and is well known for Next Day Shipping steel toed boots up the asses of sites that leak, streamers that leak, and stores that break street date. The one site, if true, will probably be fined for the Dragon Quest Heros leak because everything I've read and seen suggests that Square takes full on leaks with grave seriousness.

Assuming what she implies is right, we can definitely expect something for AC next week, whether it's a standalone direct or general direct appearance.

Animal Crossing Direct seems likely. Even Pocket Camp got one. The question is which will come first: Animal Crossing or a General Direct?

My hunch is AC first. If we get two directs this month, having AC come first would make sense, since a direct for it is expected to come on the 20th (which is set to already be packed, as far as game news and releases go). Plus it would be exactly one month before the release of New Horizons.
