Aside from knowing who the characters are and a few small details, you can watch Crisis on its own without having watched the rest. The majority of the references are to other dc live action properties, not the CW’s self contained stuff.

That's good to hear! Admittedly, I'm way behind on TV shows as it is (I REALLY need to finish Breaking Bad at some point, before the internet spoils more of it for me than it already has), but I know something about most of the characters (aside from Batwoman), so hopefully I can get into it.
