And can you describe what each side would look like too?

I understand, I see how that could be seen as off-topic. Sorry for my late reply, I was in the middle of eating so I didn't see your posts until now. I'll try my best to describe them for you, and post a link to the page with the picture I would have shown for you.

Firstly, I looked up what the end that plugs into the controller is called for reference, and it is known as a "Type-C" end (typically associated with USB 3.0 cables), while the end that plugs into the Switch dock is a standard Type-A end (your basic USB cable end that you will plug into a PC or laptop, regardless of if it is 3.0 or not).

The Type-C end is much smaller than Type-A end and is somewhat oval-shaped with round edges. The Type-A end is noticeably larger than the Type-C end, is rectangular in shape and also has a corresponding cross-section that allows it to slot into USB ports (said cross-sections are typically white in color, though they can be other colors as well).

Here's a link to the picture I wanted to show you, which can give you a pretty good idea of what I mean:

It will be easier to tell on the controller itself in that the slot at the top of the controller is in the USB 3.0 shape, with a thin connector in the middle of it. The USB Ports on your Switch dock will be larger than the slot on top the the controller, and the corresponding connectors will be a little thicker than on the controller.

That's essentially the basics of the two ends, and their corresponding ports. Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks! Now I just need to know, when I want to charge the controller, what exactly do I do?

Edit: Nevermind. It's in the article.
