tbh, i'm not as passionate for the game as i was years ago. kinda depressing to think about it :[

tbh not gonna lie it's kinda comforting to find someone else who feels like that... I used to be sooo passionate about this game and creating a knowledge base for it, but then stuff happened that kind of sucked the drive out of me and left me feeling like its all pointless. I wanna go back to being as enthusiastic as I was three or four years ago but its hard and its sad

almost exactly the same thing for me. i'm holding out hope for a lot of new content in whatever smash port nintendo is making. removing some of the questionable mechanics (rage) and toning down certain characters (not to oblivion ofc) would easily rekindle my motivation. as it stands though, i can't bring myself to actually genuinely like the game at its current state which sucks a LOT and yeah, it's depressing

i feel like my memory is really shoddy at this point when it comes to patch history but **** me, i wish nintendo wasn't so intent on patching out every single tech/character-specific tech in the game. this is the type of stuff that elevates and adds more dimension to a character's meta

. i know they're probably doing this to appeal to the "casual" fanbase. i get their rationale. they're probably looking at melee and thinking, "man a lot of people would love to play the game but it seems so inaccessible at the moment due to the highly technical meta"

this also might come off as crying too much but honestly, this is how i really feel but dlc played a role in ruining the game for me. especially bayonetta who's not leaving anytime soon based on how nintendo's been treating the franchise. the dlc characters (except corrin sorta, lucas and roy) brought some really dumbass bull**** that felt out of place in smash 4.
