Honestly she and Cloud are the reasons I stopped playing. More Bayo than Cloud, really, but it just sucked all the fun out of the game for me at some point. Plus I got worse and people improved faster than I was able to with the limited amount of time I had, so I fell off from high level into mid level, I think. But yeah, that was just the other half of the reason.

At least with Cloud you kind of know how to play against him because he's a swordsman and plays like other swordsmen. Bayo is just a matchup in her own category.

Haha. Yeah it's a shame Ryu was the last good DLC char for this game. Ppl are staunch Bayo defenders for some reason, IDGI. Most everyone tho admits her and Cloud worsen the game.

A dose of reality. I played him after a 2-3 month hiatus and started playing on even lvl with players who put in way more time + effort, also realized his risk reward is super ****ed.

yeah, I get it. Sounds like the opposite of what happened with me and Pikachu. I found myself losing to players I had no business losing to and that was honestly so discouraging

if you actually play Pikachu vs. Mario you feel like you're playing against a better version of your character and then your hopes and dreams crumble in front of you lmao

Yeah when I played Mario I was satisfied with the game, but that ebbing feeling of Cloud and Bayo being there just taints my soul. I mean Cloud is less dumb but IMO he erased a ton of chars from the meta. Bayo is just worse to actually fight.

The realization was hard at first but then I was just like....man, I was an idiot for even advocating that this char was ok. Just gotta accept it. I mean, the reason I think Balrog is more ok is cause more ppl can fight Balrog than those that can fight Cloud tbhhhh

Also on your comment about fun not mattering: Unfortunately for this game it does. Top players legit don't make good money from Smash, they could move to anything bigger and sustain. If passion dies, this game very easily could sink that fast. That's a problem.

I don't think that our top players would necessarily be top in other games, though, they have decades of smash experience for most of them.

They do, but a majority of this game's base is passion, and without a base the top players can't play. Tournaments making no money = they don't exist. Smash is unfortunately not profitable largely.

yeah, but I don't think that most of them could do anything else gamewise, so it's not like they'll leave. It is a fair point, though, probably why Brawl died out
