Hey man I apologize for not replying earlier I was setting up 20xx on my Wii and I finally got it hacked. I just started practicing my basics with fox. Like short hop. How long did it take you to master hop and L canceling?

I don't remember exactly how LONG it took me but I do know is that it took me quite a while before I mastered short hopping and L cancels. Honestly it's all just muscle memory. I used always full hop cuz my thumb wasn't fast enough. Same with L cancels.
