I've also seen somebody say that Mario can edgeguard Ryu really well with Cape and FLUDD, but I find it arguable. Your input?

Mario cannot edgeguard Ryu well.

Doesn't Ryu have to respect FLUDD to an extent?

He has to recover low, but he doesn't care about that.
Every mistake Mario makes is a large potential punish vs Ryu. Extremely strong damage per hit and Ryu has kill confirms as well. Focus Attack is forced to be respected.
Mario's D-air messes up Ryu's Focus Attack of course, but Ryu can catch up so quickly in damage and can kill you in the 90's with enough rage.
