  • Heya, I'm freeDIO over on reddit! Before I deleted the account, any posts you saw by Fathom42 were also me! I figured that if you like what I had to say there, you might appreciate knowing who I am on SB. Even if I rarely post here these days. XD

Did they get rid of the friend request functionality on the site? I don't see it anywhere. If so, I suppose I can get down with the following system replacing it. *shrugs*
I saw your Reddit post on http://gfycat.com/DefensiveWeeHyena and was wondering: how do you decide whether to set a Din's past the ledge and punish them getting hit when they're recovering or to do what you did in this gfycat with setting a Din's above the ledge and edgehogging?

I hope you don't mind me messaging you here by the way. Let me know if you do.

How interesting. Thanks for the info.

By the way, I would've thought that placing the Din's further away from the stage to cover Phantasm/Illusion would be better since it gives you more time to react if they get hit by it and puts them in a worse position.

Place it out further is a great option but it doesn't give you much stage presence if they recover to the stage. Every Din's Fire placement has a purpose and it's good to try different setups throughout a match.
Hey. Do you ever use dash past ledge -> ribbon -> grab ledge? And if so, have you found that the changes from 3.5 to 3.6 with the ledge running glitch have sometimes stopped you from doing this? I thought I might ask you since you're one of the Zelda players who use the ribbon more.

That is frustrating. I guess my fingers have adjusted because I once did the same thing. Try rolling the control stickup upwards as you run off to prevent yourself from getting stuck on the stage while still getting the Farore's Wind. Have you considered wave dashing off into FW ledge grab? It's more buttons but the slide of the WD lets you commit to the FW inputs.

Yeah, it is. The WD approach seems better actually , as long as I space it right. FYI that method works with tap jump on as well. Thanks.

Tap jump just makes run of FW ledge grab really hard which is why I asked haha. The nice thing about the WD method is that you can wave land out of an aerial that knocked them off stage into immediate ledge grab + a hit box even if your back isn't to the ledge.
    hi zelda booboo.

Why not? Also there were no jabs. Down tilt leads into so much stuff, and can combo into up tilt against floaties like Marth. Up tilt can trade with Marth's fair for high percent KO's. F-Throw>up air can KO Marth's who DI the throw up. Up air KO's both Fox and Marth and really good percents. Jab and d-tilt are only bad at low percents when they can be CC'd.

Gotta use every move if you want to beat every character.

marth just outspaces zelda's jab(i used it once and got punished). i actually used dtilt a couple of times rewatching the video. i dont use uair when i know i can get a free kick. i can't breathe when i play taylor so i don't use moves with high ending lag except up smash. also i dont use every move for some characters because they simply are not useful.
Someone's name is censored in your latest post.

Lol! That's probably Ben, our Falco/Ganon player. 7th on Melee PR and 8th on PM PR. His tag is Ji--ard (substitute -'s for z's)

Oh, your friend made that? Nice.
I've downloaded a few texture and music packs and heard some great music on online matches too that motivate me to make my own music pack borrowing a few songs from each and adding my own. Have you thought of making one?

I have thought of making one but I don't know enough about the process yet. This build was custom made for the UO Smash Club that I helped found when I went to university. It's still going strong and now they're working on a custom build!

Ah, so forming that group was like having a kid, and you've been able to watch it grow and support itself. How sentimental. I noticed the menu differences from the standard build. It must be nice to be a part of something special like that.

You've mentioned that you went to UO. Are you a college football fan?
Thanks so much for posting all that good stuff about Din's in the ToW thread!! You were essential
