Funny that you've reminded me about Yoshi, I downloaded the GBA port of Yoshi's Island on the VC a while back, and have barely touched it since.
I probably would be playing it now if it weren't for Xenoblade Chronicles, and the fact that I'm planning on doing Shadow of the Colossus this month.

I never played the GBA port, but the original SNES version is pretty great. So what tips do you have for my Yoshi play? I don't plan to main him (I settled with Villager and Olimar), but I'd like to improve nonetheless.

Yoshi's Island is one of my favorite games of all time, but I haven't played the GBA port either. It's been a while since I last played it though, which is why I downloaded it.
I don't believe I ever encountered your Yoshi play, so I'll have to play some matches with you in order to get a general opinion. One thing I would recommend is to make use of Up-B to keep your distance from opponents while racking up damage.

So far I've been writing papers for college, which is pretty time-consuming.
