You're using Ryu now?

Going to try to go 100% Ryu in a tournament today.

I have SF experience, and he covers Pikachu's bad matchups super well. Ness, Mario, Luigi--characters who rely on trades against lightweights--get outtraded and outranged by him. Those are probably Pikachu's worst matchups.

All the swordies except Shulk and the Pits got buffed in this patch, so some are annoying with Pikachu. Pika still beats the slow ones like Link/Ike, but has some trouble with Roy and Meta Knight (they're still 50:50ish though). Luckily Ryu dominates both of those characters with his reward.

Meanwhile, Ryu might have losing matchups against safer sword characters like Ike and Marth with all their range, but Pika does really well against both of those guys. Ryu also loses to the speedsters that can disrespect his footsies--ZSS, Sonic, Pika, Sheik, Falcon imo (Falcon and ZSS are debatable; Ryu's reward is great against them). Pikachu beats all of those characters pretty handily (except himself).

Pikachu is kind of like a sword character between up-tilt, up-air, Quick Attack, d-tilt, and disjoints on f-air/d-air and on d-smash/f-smash. His tail is a mini-sword.

Pikachu is nuts man. There's a Pikachu in my scene that's been rising and winning recently beating the known players from left and right. At first I was hesitant to buy the Pikachu hype because no one plays as it/him. Then I realized I don't need anyone to show me that Pikachu is really good in this game

because well, it's already obvious that Pika's really good anyway

He's nuts, but has some matchups in which he has to work hard imo. Mario is hard, Luigi is hardish, Ness is hard, Olimar and Sheik are OK, but kinda annoying, Roy and Meta Knight are annoying.

Speaking of Meta Knight, I honestly think he's top tier at this point. Only thing really holding (anyone) back from being confident about that is the lack of results

I don't really get that because Meta Knight has as many results as Pikachu O_o

Got 1st. Beat a ZSS 3-2 in Winners Finals, beat a Ness 3-0 in Grand Finals.

idk. I think MK is pretty much (possibly) top tier at this point despite that

I know you always have used Pikachu.... but as for your "other" main... You went from Robin to Ike to Shulk to Palutena to Mii Gunner to Mario to Sonic to Luigi to Meta Knight to not Mewtwo to Ike to Ryu aaaaand now to Marth
