  • Yooo, I was looking into picking up Luigi to mess around with now that the band wagoners are gone. Any places you can guide me to as far as optimizing combos and neutral game?

If you ask me, in general, I just try to out-think and out-read people, as that what Luigi may have turned into. My Luigi is pretty basic, the more I think about it. My combos generally are either D-throw + F-air + N-air + U-tilts + U-smash or D-throw + U-smash + regrab. In neutral, I mix up a lot between:
    1. Fireballs
    2. SHAD
    3. SHFF F-airs and B-airs
    4. Run to shield

Basically, I try to be as unpredictable as possible. But sometimes I consider patient play as an aggresive one tend to be beaten by defensive play (Sword spacings, camping, etc).
Yeah, my Luigi is pretty basic. If you want some good Luigi play, check out Mr. Con Con or Boss. If you can, try to learn jumpless Cyclone, as it helps Luigi's recovery and edgeguarding a lot.

A friendly reminder: Never, ever Missile that end up near the ledge. It's basically yelling for a spike. In fact, don't use Missile anywhere except for really far down or if you're really feeling you're going to get a misfire. I'm dubbing this move as 'Garbage Missile' for reasons.
I think the best part about my Tuesday was someone saying Doc's Up+B was slower than Mario's in the Competitive Threads. I've....never seen anyone say that in ever.
