It was deserved. I only follow people who impress me in some fashion ;)

I'm glad I was able to do so. I just wanted to give a good view from the perspective of myself, who primarily played Melee and went to local tournies that mostly featured it to explain that it's not perfect.

Well, you and I see eye to eye, in that respect. I loved playing Melee, but yeah, that character balance though. Smash 4 isn't perfect but it has key advantages over Melee and Brawl.

I'm really interested in saving up and going to nationals for 4, especially once Mewtwo releases, I'll have my old Melee/PM main back. I'd still like to attend some Melee and PM stuff too though.

I'd definitely plan on going if I had more confidence in my abilities. Without the Wii U version, For Glory is usually the only pvp I get, which is lackluster. It also lacks the human element. When I play seriously, I want to be able to see who I'm fighting, congratulate them, chat with them, share ideas, etc. That's how I grew the most during my Melee days in High School.

It's pretty much the general consensus that online Smash is in most ways inferior to local. Even with the best internet in the world, you're gonna get input lag. Luckily I'm in the DFW area and the Smash 4 scene is pretty big, so I can get local practice in. FG is fun, but it's a gross misrepresentation of one's actual skill. Not only because it's online, but because flat stages favor certain characters.

Agreed. I mostly play Ike and DK. Ike doesn't mind flat stages much, but man, DK hates flat stages against most characters...

That's what I keep telling everyone who thinks DK sucks. Try him on BF or the Sonic stage and you'll see the difference.

I wish I could like that individual post because, yes. I don't have the Wii U version yet (mine is busted; costs $100 to fix), but Lylat returning is super hype for me, too.

Hellz yeah. My go to character is Wolf if I'm not Mewtwo, and my friend plays Fox. Whenever we do locals, we always pick that stage just to make it more epic. When the Star Wolf theme kicks in, Tryhard LoveGame takes over.

I love that Star Wolf theme, too.

I was sad they cut Wolf. I thought that, while the whole Landmaster thing was ridiculous, his voice, moves, animation, etc. were fantastic. I didn't care about Lucas, Charizard was my favorite one of the trio anyway, and I was never a Metal Gear fan. I do miss having the ICs around, even though I was never any good with them.
