  • You wrote that you liked Teegan and Sara and wanted to know if you liked the artist Marina and the Diamonds.

Well I am glad you enjoyed the music video. I may be doing a male version of that song at my colleges open mic.

I love the story of starring role and the power. Uhm if you like HtBaH you may like Primmadonna but it's mainly a shot in the dark.

    This artist affects everyone differently.

I like the idea expressed in Starring Role. But I don't know. I think she clings to the analogy a little too strongly. Feels a little too obvious.

That's kind of why I like Heartbreaker. The verses and choruses are all about how to be cool and distant and this perfect catch, and then the bridge reveals that all to be the facade that it is, and how beneath it people's true selves can be really vulnerable. It's cool, and unexpected in the song.

Also, obviously the boys are nice.
    Jerkus, where'd you go?

Uh, kind of a difficult question to answer I guess. A few years ago, I basically just stopped coming to smashboards, then I came back but kind of only came back to the Decisive Games board. Figured no one would miss me.

Chapter 6, in a vacuum, actually isn't that bad. It's just exactly what Chapter 5 should have been. Now I can finally open those blue treasure chests so it doesn't feel so pointless to run the dungeons again. There's more shenanigans going on with Ringabel so it feels like the story is actually trying to get somewhere even though we are technically revisiting everything again. It's not bad.

It just doesn't make sense that we had to go through all of Chapter 5's fluff to get there. If Chapter 5 hadn't just happened, I would be much more forgiving. It would be a totally reasonable JP farming chapter. Now I'm leveling jobs I don't even care about just to put the points to some use.

I hope Bravely Second is a lot more streamlined. Assuming it comes to the west.

Chapter 5: "Hey, that thing we just spent the whole game building to didn't work—let's just try it again with no changes and see what happens even though everything in the game has foreshadowed that this is the wrong thing to be doing in the first place!"

    Gah, so stupid.
you make a good point about sex bob-omb probably being better, i bet kary would be on board for it

I was actually thinking Kary as well. I just knew Badwolf had already expressed interest in the game in general. Ask Kary.
Me. You. Somebody else. Riddle game. I'll be the Scott to your ramona.

sounds great. first person i thought of for the third was zen, but then....

uh, sex bob-omb might make for a better SP threesome (i could switch to kim or stephen totes easy)

badwolf is looking for a team, if you don't mind that. i don't know who else we would get, specifically.
Jerkus, please tell me you've listened to Reflektor by now. We have to discuss it in the most pretentious manner possible.

It's definitely a grower. There are some songs that instantly get your attention but otherwise give it some time and you'll come to love the whole thing. Disc 2 is way better than Disc 1 in my opinion.

Back half being better than first half is something I've consistently read. Which I guess bodes well, since I like the one song I've heard from the first half.
rake wishes to know if fml can play in FE since i wanna play but can't finish the game due to basic happening in january.

so the little talk in the Social reminded me

I actually have an ongoing project of sorts (more like a well-maintained list) in the LoD where I take recommendations from people and give them a shot, be they movies or books or comics or whatever. It started as an effort to catch up on the backlog of recommendations I'd been neglecting, but I've long since grown out from under it

When it's good, it's quite good, but it's decidedly slow moving and pretty much all of the doors they open in season one remain open by the finale. Overall, it comes across as just kind of left-of-center. There's something "off" about just about every character (and, by extension, every character relationship) in the show. The pilot sets it up pretty well.

It's neat in the sense that you don't really get a traditional protagonist. I mean, obviously, the show kind of sets you up on Norma and Norman's side, but even they aren't always on the SAME side (increasingly so as the season goes on).

At various points, pretty much all of the various members of the Bates family that you know are pitted against each other, and sometimes one is framed as the crazy one, and then it's flipped in another scene, and then they all come together in another. Overall, they juggle THAT dynamic really well.
    why don't we talk anymore

I don't talk to ANYONE anymore. Because I'm a scary loner.

Actually, mostly, I just lurk the boards when I have free time, but I don't even bother logging in unless I have something to say or time to say it, so my presence has been scarce.

I officially stole a bunch of your gifs from the post game of Persona mafia and put them in my reaction gif folder. I'm kinda wondering where the hell your endless supply of gifs come from...and want them for myself, of course ;D.

Kudos, and here's some compensation for my gif theft; stumbled upon this beauty recently and haven't used it yet:

Don't play games with me, mister. I'll look through your post history of the last year and look for all exclamation marks >: (
Well, Mass Effect managed to not scare me off, although being the guy that wasn't supposed to post as scum while Ryker was constantly abandoning me sucked some balls. It was kinda like being a quadriplegic on the Titanic as it sinks.

anyway, I guess it's likely you'll see me in a future game at some point

...and we will probably be opposite alignments again seriously what's the deal
idk man. I don't post in the Disco Room anymore either, I guess I got bored.
I still talk in the dgames skype occasionally, not that you would know :(
the more important question is; why has it been 6 months already since i messaged you o_O
I always find myself loving the episodes with songs in them, but goddamn that ending one just hit me hard. Ice King is honestly probably the most tragic character I can even think of, and this is coming from a show where half of the speaking characters are made of candy.

And yeah, I agree completely about how keeping the backstory of Ooo vague lets them set up incredible stuff as they go. Like I can't imagine when they were starting off that they had any idea Ice King was going to have the back story he does, but god DAMN the first time I watched that tape of Simon it really was just hard to see (especially watching him not even react to it afterwards outside of 'noooooo you know I used to wear glasses).
Immediately remove that avatar, it's completely unfitting of Circus.

I don't how to explain it, but it just isn't you. I'm sorry.

    I love you.
I don't know if you've seen the most recent episode of adventure time but I don't even know what to say

To put it frankly, I was moved to tears by a children's cartoon and its not exactly good for my rep but I don't even care it was that good
    Word.

Also the large I got on the large queue for is going to be literally worth playing larges just to get it here sooner. Medi and I are workin' together on it. It is about the world's greatest detectives banding together to retake Gotham City from criminals. Possibly set in an alt-reality We Own the Knight universe, we haven't decided yet. The setup, as it's shaping right now, is ****in' poetry.

You are the first person to be told this stuff I think
    ----------
re-retirement after Mass Effect inevitably sends you in.
    ----------
heh well it's good that you're setting realistic expectations about the future of EE

I dunno, though. Hydraing with Ryker wasn't a spur of the moment decision... it's like, if I hydra with someone that respects my abilities, and someone that's good at getting people to listen to them, then I can do the things I enjoy in mafia (crafting plans, detective work, etc) with none of the things that annoy me. Or, well, they'll still happen.... but I wont' have to be slogging through the trenches on my own and clawing my scalp off, anyway. I can defer to someone who doesn't literally hate life everytime a game gets stupid to handle the thread while doing the things I enjoy

Dunno, I mean... it seems like a workable formula. I literally never would have considered unretirement, but Ryker mentioned the hydra idea that lets me commit exactly as much as I care to, and it really got the gears pinning

(also what's the flavor I gotta know)
man you'd need boredom to watch "Business"?

That is neither fashionforward nor homosexual of you
