I've posted about this before, but the Fruity Pebbles commercials fascinate me because of how completely off the mark they are from their source material - if you only watched Fruity Pebbles commercials you'd think Barney is the scheming jerk and Fred's the gullable oaf, when it's the other way around in the show. Like, imagine if they did an ad campaign where Patrick schemes like a moustache twirling villain to steal SpongeBob's Blueberry Barnacles™ with elaborate disguises and traps, and it outlasted not only the SpongeBob show, not only it's reruns, but even it's nostalgic popularity.

In terms of weirder ones, I know there's this sort of de-icing material that uses Road Runner's name and likeness
