I don’t mock God or Jesus. I just mock the people that blindly follow the ridiculous laws and rules “the church” puts out in the form of “truth”, reject science and logic unless it supports their cause, use their “holy book” to subjugate and demonize people they disagree with, and boldly assume everyone should follow what they believe.

Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom I don't want to argue. I just don't want to hear people mocking my religion. I feel like that isn't asking for a lot. I will just ignore you if being respectful is too much to ask of you.

I am being respectful but that doesn’t mean I can’t call out bigotry, racism, religious intolerance, and Christian nationalism when I see it lol.

Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom I haven't said anything bigoted and the only one being religiously intolerant is you. So my religion has laws and is the corner stone of my life. I haven't started anything, all I did was ask that people stop mocking God on the front page of SmashBoards.

I never referred to you in anyway. I never mentioned your name nor that you would fall under that. I’m perfectly fine with people practicing Christianity. It’s when they feel that their book of rules can govern peoples lives such as a woman’s rights, how people identify as, and who people choose to love for example. Christianity had a horrible track record of religious intolerance with it even extending to inter-denominational Christian faiths. I grew up in an evangelical Christian household and while my parents were fairly laxed, they still enforced Christian principals and values which are, to an extent, beneficial but it’s the added baggage that ruins it. My experiences from that upbringing has shown me there are both bad and good things of the Christian faith but this added political baggage is stifling and toxic. There’s a church near by where every Sunday sermon is something political. Hell, the most recent sermon today was “Why President Trump is God’s appointed candidate”. If that does make someone gag, then they are a lost cause.

I don’t have any issues with Christians and Christianity. I will stick up for them when the situation calls for it but it’s when they use their message, which is to be about love and acceptance, to browbeat, mock, insult, and otherwise discriminate against people they disagree with is what I will stand up against. This includes trying to use the Bible in place of the Constitution.
