  • Every person in the planet should play Dong Dong Never Die at least once in their lifes.
SF6 give me some inspiration to rewrite my concept for a fighting game, so here are some concepts of movesets and things like that:
    SOUL DRIVERS IDEAS
Soul Drivers is a 1v1 2D fighting game that takes inspiration from a lot of different fighting games (most notably does from Arc System Works and SNK). The controls are divided by a light, medium and hard attack + a Unique Action, the Unique Action button (also called Special or S) has different utilities between each character, some characters uses this button to have access to extra moves like a rekka, an special projectile or attacks that inflicts a status effect but there are also other characters with a more passive/indirect usage like charge a special meter, enhance your attacks or change stances between others. (In other words the buttons are the same has BlazBlue)

It has some other mechanics dragged from other games like Street Fighter's target combos, a Just Defense-like mechanic from Garou and the meter works like Guilty Gear's Tension Meter increasing the more agressive you are.

There are 15 characters at launch + unplayable boss (being playable later meanwhile update). Some of the characters are:
    • Jacket Guy (it doesn't has a name yet, but provisionally his name is "Jack"): Your main dude, it has more or less what you would expect, a projectile (Reppuken like but it also works like Es's projectiles that you can do light + light, light + strong, strong + light and strong + strong), a tatsu (not a conventional one, more like Akatsuki's CHESTOOOOOO attack and a dragon punch with a punch and suplex follow-up. Andyeah he controls lighting cause why not.
    • Gina "Gine" Maxwell: I already showed her in the OC Battle Royale thread, but here I will talk more about her moveset, she is basically "throw P4AU Aigis, BBCF Kokonoe, UMVC3 Tron Bonne and DNF Duel Launcher and with GGXrd Jack-O's servants + TF2 Engineer turrets", it would probably sound like the most bull**** broken thing but isn't like that, she is always needing meter to have control of the neutral and if she loses it and the rival is close she will die FAST, her unique actionare the turrets that she can place in the ground or midair with a max of 2 turrets deployed at the same time, the turrets has a timer of lifespan that could be decreased attacking them, the turrets shoots periodically projectiles but you can also force them to do a particular attack (including making them explode).
    • Élise Fountain: Another character I showed before, this time in my profile with a photo of her most actual design attached. She is the zoner, it has a lot of beams and projectiles like Aoko in Melty Blood but it also has some moves more similar to Tsubaki from BlazBlue (particulary she also owns a meter that works like Install that levels up her attacks) and with the ability of transform her magic rod into different weapons.
    • Vivian Hortencia: She is the RNG character, the crazy ass random bull**** go fighter, imagine Adeleine but in a traditional fighting game and her fathers are Faust and Kohaku and that's what Vivian mostly is, she can paint things in the air brings them life, sometimes she paints objects like food, bombs or saws and other times she summons a minion like a shark that works like Totsugeki, a carnivore plant that eats you like a command grab, an elephant that spins and lunges against you, a troope of planes who flies above the enemy and does a kamikaze attack against them, etc.
    • Wild Mask (Provisional Name): The mexican, and like almost all the mexican characters in fighting games is a wrestler grappler, but he has a legendary mask that basically makes him a swole Beast Boy having the ability to transform certain parts of himself into animals like making his arms the ones of a bear to do a "bear hug" or using the head of a hammer shark to do a lunge, etc. My main inspiration for him was the fact that a lot of mexican grapplers has animal motifs (Tizoc, King of Dinousaurs, King, etc).
    • Tengu (Provisional Name): The stance character and the ninja guy that like the name obviously tells it has Tengu abilities, he use wind attacks alongside ninjutsu being like a mix of Chipp Zanuff, Yashamaru, Zeku, Fuujin Gato, Seth (UNIB ninja no SF robot) and Yosuke. His stances are one with a more focus on the rushdown ninjutsu moves and a second more based on the mixups that uses more tengu abilities.
    • Cold Tunes (Provisional Name): I created this character when Daft Punk was separated, its like a homage to them with the character using a similar mask but with some eyes to make it more expressive. He fights using a guitar that allows him use ice spells, he is a zoner of the trapper branch, like if I-No has Glacius moveset.
For the story the previous script was like if Rugal and Bison makes the fusion dances and then they declare a war to the world creating Justice and using it to destroy Texas and then the ONU gives a price to head of that guy and so a lot of bounty hunters and people who just want to be a hero starts to search him but now I want to do something different, the problem it's that I suck making stories so I don't have any idea for the moment.

And yeah only the girls has actual names, its more hard name guys for some reason.
I'm still having struggles between try to make a Fate Fighting game concept or use the idea for a thread, I think make it with other people would be funnier but I don't know how many people would share my intereset on that. Even if it was just other 3 people, but if it can't retain the intereset then I don't want to make the very same thing has BBTAG 2.
Anyone knows about a short anime/manga for view/read?, I was thinking on view Spy x Family but I want to see it with my dad in spanish so I will wait more for that. But I still wanting to do something.
What I did before for Geese but now for Akuma, because I'm hyped for SF6 and Akuma is one of my favs, he will only have one gimmick different to Ryu and Ken and it's his own "One Winged Angel form", where Akuma enhance his attacks with the power of the Satsui no Hado.
    Neutral Special - Gohadouken/Zanku Hadouken
Akuma's Hadouken, when Akuma use the neutral special in the air it becomes Zanku Hadouken, it's basically the same Hadouken but unlike Ryu and Ken he shoots his fireball diagonal downwards. Use the QCF + Attack input to enhance the attack becoming multi hit and in the case of Zanku Hadouken launching two (slight smaller) fireballs at the same time. When Akuma is under the effects of the Satsui no Hado he will always do the enhanced version of the attack,

    Side Special - Tatsumaki Zankukyaku
Akuma's Tatsumaki is different of both Ryu and Ken since it's stronger than Ryu but its affected by gravity meaning that it doesn't work has a horizontal recovery. Use the QCB + Attack input to do a stronger version of the move.

    Up Special - Goshoryuken
    .
Akuma's Shoryuken, it's similar to Ryu's one but it has more power, do the S + Attack input to do an enhanced version that adds a second hit to the attack, when Akuma is under the effects of the Satsui no Hado you can press the button again and do a follow up where Akuma gabs his opponent slaming them to the ground.

    Down Special - Hyakkishu
Hyakkishu (or "the Demon Flip" for the ones that prefer named it in that way) is a command jump, if you don't know what that words mean basically is a regular jump made with a command but that it usually has some class of function that made it different of the regular jump, in Akuma's case he can do different attacks after jumping has follow-ups:
Note that much like Ryu and Ken's Down Special, this attack doesn't has an input version (but it's still affected by the light/medium/heavy mechanic)

    Command Special - Sekia Goshoha
Much like Ryu he can also do a Shakunetsu Hadouken (even if his version is called Sekia Goshoha), unlike Ryu he can charge the move to make the fireball stronger, you can't use Sekia Goshoha in the air.

Final Smash - Kongou Kokuretsuzan/Misogi/Shun Goku Satsu
Akuma has three Final Smashes, two of them depends of the distance meanwhile the third one is a secret input-only, if you are near an opponent in the floor Akuma use Kongou Kokuretsuzan, Akuma charges energy in his hand and strikes the ground creating a wave of energy, if you are either far the opponent or in the air he uses Misogi, Akuma jumps offscreen and reappers quickly above the opponent (or the nearest one in the case that there are more than one) attacking with a devastating knifehand strike, if the opponent is above a pit he will only teleport to the border of the stage. If you input Jab, Jab, Forward Tilt + B meanwhile you are under the effects of the Smash Ball/SF Meter Akuma uses his ultimate technique the Shun Goku Satsu, Akuma grabs an opponent and fades the screen to back as the target is relentlessly beaten showcased by a series of flashes. If Akuma is under the Satsui no Hado effect the move is cinematic showing a mix of the SFIV/Tekken 7 and SFV versions of the move, in any of the versions if after the move the opponent has 100% of damage or more it's instant killed, Akuma will pose at the end of the move (and has a side note, it will also be his victory pose if he finish the fight with this move).

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has an additional note, Ashura Senku is his dodge, meaning that he actually has a special dodge, when Akuma is in Satsui no Hado mode he will also be able to use Ashura Zenku midair replacing his air dodge.
Man I love Hobo Ken is just ****ing Garou Terry. But I hope this change to his design doesn't mean he is broken or divorced....or both....
I love this theme, sad that isn't in Smash (I know this is a cover don't @ me)
I did some banners of my mains in the KOF games that I played the most. And I think its very easy to tell who are my overall favorites lol. If Takuma and Krauser comes back I would consider make a third KOF XV team alongside Heidern.

I love the lore of the games, I think it's interesing to know how the world works and the stories behind the characters, but if there is something I love more is telling people that don't know about the lore things without context.
    • Friend: Hey this character called Dizzy looks cute!
    • Me: Yeah, she is 10 years old
    • Friend: What?
    • Me: And his son is 5 years old, and her spouse is 30
    • Friend: ...what?
OK I guess the new Pokémon is something, I like the Violet Legendary but meh, I'm looking more for Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, XC3 or Danganronpa Decadence atm, unless some **** happens like Persona 5 Arena or BlazBlue 5 I guess my money is safe for now.

    Oh and also this:
I've noticed that you've been liking my posts where I state my hypothesis/theory of modern traditional fighters being "mechanically bloated" on that one thread.

I was expecting traditional FG fans (the few on this site at least) to breathe really heavy and type really hard at me after getting that hypothesis off my chest, yet you clearly are a traditional FG fan who responds positively to it. Does that mean you at least partially agree with it?

IDK, I think a lot of mainstream games nowadays can be pretty bloated in different ways.

I agree in terms about how this class of games doesnt require the shi tton of mechanics, I think the games can have a lot of mechanics if they have synergy and doesnt feel like something that it would be better if "X", I enjoy complex games and easier games and I think it would be better to make Smash easier in certain aspects, either making some mechanics universal or removing the ones that feels that are only in the game for use space.

Keep in mind that, like I referenced in that thread, those mechanics are "defensive design" to preemptively prevent any character from being overpowered. Do you believe there's a way for traditional fighters to have "defensive design" without mechanical bloat? I hope there is.

There are some games with a major emphasis on defense, the most extreme example is Samurai Shodown where combos are practically unnecesary and even counterproductive, there are others without that but it also has their own defensive options for make the things more balanced like Guilty Gear's Burst (that personally it wasn't refined until the Persona Arena games), the famous Street Fighter III Parry, the Combo Breaker of Killer Instinct or the Shield of Melty Blood, either way there its also the posibility to make the defense so strong that some people would think that its even more broken than the actual offensive options (like the same Shield of Melty Blood in Type Lumina).
Since when the Pendulum Magician Archetype get support? An you are telling me that my favorite card Astrograph Sorcerer (the reason of my nick) isnt banned anymore?!??!! LETS ****ING GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Man I love artbooks, not only because I like to see and read the unpublished content but because it helps me in my career to practice in drawing, making concept art for my works, etc. I have BOTW Artbook, Hyrule Historia and an artbook of Marvel, I'm looking for the KOF artbook and the Kirby one (that I think it's already out of stocks).
I want to flex my Steam library 🗿, most of them are fighting games lol but I want to try more games outside of that genre, I have Tales of Vesperia, Symphonia and Berseria in the eye (I only played Phantasia atm, great game btw), and also Touhou Lunalights and SMT III, I would like to have Strive and KOF XV but I know damn well that my PC can't handle those games xd.

This is one of my favorite games of the Wii and it's a shame that not too much people knew it. Maybe with Aegis Rim Vanillaware starts to port more videogames to Switch like this one and the remake of Odin Sphere for PS4.

Over all things I would like that in SF6 Capcom had the guts to make noticeable changes to the classic characters, the fact that the only new special move of Ryu is from SFIII (sure you had that move from OMEGA Mode from SFIV that was used later has his other V-Skill but it's more or less a variation of the Hadouken) it's just sad. I don't mean make Street Fighter the new Guilty Gear, just give the old guys one or two new moves for mantain them interesing (isn't like any classic character had redesigns before, Akuma is the best example with things like his Demon Flip and all the Oni things he carried to SFV).
Me: Watch an Analog Terror/EAS/ARG video

    Me: gets scared

Also me: I will ****ing do it again

Seriously I'm starting to fall into the rabbithole and it usually disturbes me, I aren't even a particular fan of the horror but for some reason I'm very interesed with these things.
I wonder if Smash would have the same impact if it was a more "grounded" fighting game, more akin to something like Marvel vs Capcom or Skullgirls, I mean, the roster factor would still being a big deal.
Looking that people here are interesed in those tournament similars to "King for Another Day", I want to do a shout out to Third World Tournament X, is inspired by KFAD but it has the settings of hispanic memes, of course understand those memes would be more hard for people outside the region but the people of TWTX made a Google Doc in english that explains everything, apart the music and art are very good!

I was bored in my english class and I started to remind some ideas that I had for a game, one of my favorites (that isn't a FG) is one of a Roguelite/Bullet Hell based (slightly) on Dante's Divine Comedy, basically you are a guy who ended in Hell for something that you didn't and you want to go to the paradise, so you try to escape from hell. This was something that I did in 2018 moreso and now it results that there is something more or less similar and that is Hades 🗿.

But hey, in my idea you was using a guy with a fish sword!
If we are in a timeline where we have modern-day ports/remasters of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle then there it exist the possibility that SNK launch a port of KOF XI with Rollback.

    ...right?
I would like to make a thread about a Type-Moon or Danganronpa fighting game but I have the feeling that it would die quickly just like the other threads that I made.
