Collision XIV: New Jersey's Heated Tournament Series Continues Feat. Nairo, ZeRo, and More!

On Saturday, September 3rd, the SmashLeague Championship Series will be hosting its fourteenth iteration of the Collision series of tournaments in New Jersey! The event had formerly ran alongside the KTAR series of tournaments in New Jersey but with Rich “CLG Keitaro” King moving from the NJ area, the Collision series has picked up the mantle of hosting some of the tri-state region’s finest talent. They will be running both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for WiiU, with plenty of powerful players slated to come and fight for the top.

One such artist was JisuArt, known for her art featuring top-tier gaming/pop culture products. She's often found selling them at her booths at many events including Genesis 3, Super Smash Con 2015/2016, Pound 2016, The Big House 5, and EVO 2016.

Regular Tourneys to be Discontinued from September 30th

Nintendo of Japan has just announced that Regular Tourneys will end on September 30th.

Regular Tourneys are the tournaments that are created by Nintendo. After September 30th, that section on the tournament screen will be blank. It seems that Normal Tourneys will not be affected, so the community can still create their own tournaments for the time being.

Top Smash players from all over the country came to Boston last August 26 - 28 for the region's first premiere event: Shine 2016. With a number of Super Smash Bros., Melee and for Wii U's titans present, the level of competition was set to be high and it showed. The stakes were high, the crowds intense and in the end, only one king could wear the crown for each game.

As of August 29, YouTube content creator for Super Smash Bros for Wii U, My Smash Corner, launched a new video series discussing different competitive smash topics and starts it off by explaining the factors that go into making a tier list.

Throughout the years there have been several controversial tier lists that linger around the internet. But do you sometimes find yourself scratching your head and asking, what actually goes into a tier list? My Smash Corner gives an unbiased opinion and goes into depth of what comprises a solid tier list.

Give it a watch! This video is informative and could help give some insight to new players that are unfamiliar to tier lists and influence current players a different point of view when compiling their own tier lists.
