That talent was ArtsyOmni, known for starting a series called Smashified, where he and a group of other artists create characters to demonstrate how they would look like in a Smash game. When he’s not at his day job, he’s often found working at his computer desk on art. Sometimes he’ll make his way out to a convention.

Shine 2016 was, without a doubt, one of the finest Smash-centric events we’ve seen this year. A man who would come into the tournament as an underdog, but come out as a hero to all mid-tier players: Austin “EVB | Dath” Brown, the Robin main from Florida.

Operation Desert Smash II (ODSII) has returned to the desert shores of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. In 2015, Cody “Daniels” Daniels made a big move for this small Arizona scene, inviting a number of top players out to his house for a Super Smash Bros. 64 retreat weekend. Daniels flew all attendees out and planned a slew of activities. This groundbreaking event spurred on the massive recent growth of Havasu Smash 64, allowing a paradise of Smash to sprout up in the desert. This year, the event has been expanded greatly, as more than 50 Smashers are congregating on this sprawling lake town for a weekend of both fun and competition. Throughout the weekend, there will be the standard events of a doubles and singles bracket, as well as more interesting side events such as a YOLO bracket, low-tier tournament and...

This weekend, September 10th - 11th, top tournament organisers from the Avalon Series and GGWP team up for the seventh largest European Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament and largest Dutch tournament of all time.

This Saturday, September 10, Kanto's premier tournament series returns for another installment. Umebura 25 marks the first big tournament in East Japan since Umebura S.A.T. last month. This time, brand new international guests are coming! This time, Counter Logic Gaming's finest Super Smash Bros. Wii U players, James "CLG VoiD" Makekau-Tyson and Tyrell "CLG NAKAT" Coleman, will try their luck against Kanto's best.
