Rivals of Aether fans are in for a treat this week. 4 community created DLC characters are making their way onto the base roster, and rollback netcode will be implemented as well. Both are included in a free patch releasing February 3rd.

April Fools Day has come and gone, and with it came the third Rivals Direct, this time eschewing the typical Nintendo Direct parody in favor of a Visual Novel-inspired framing device set in the Lovers of Aether universe, mixed with audience participation the style of streams like Twitch Plays Pokemon. Just like Rivals Direct 2, despite the timing and odd presentation, these announcements are all real.

The team behind hit indie platform fighter Rivals of Aether, has announced Twitch Plays Rivals Direct 3, the third in their series of Nintendo Direct-inspired announcement streams. As with the past two, the direct is scheduled for April 1st.

2019’s Frostbite will take place in Detroit, Michigan, beginning on February 22nd and continuing to the 24th, and will feature singles and doubles brackets for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Rivals of Aether as the main events.

Over a year after their first guest character reveal, Shovel Knight has been announced during Rivals of Aether's panel at Super Smash Con 2018 as the game's final DLC character.

Rivals of Aether's sixth and final DLC character is set to be revealed during the development team's panel at Super Smash Con. This is going to be the game's second guest character, and though the speculation surrounding them should feel familiar to Super Smash Bros. fans, there's a couple of key differences.

The new Make Your Mark series will award winners with the ability to create a unique character skin with the Rivals of Aether game developers.

The Rivals of Aether development team announced the Rivals of Aether EVO 2018 side event on June 29th during their developer podcast. The Rivals team will provide a $1,000 pot bonus for the event.
