Smashboards, the world’s largest competitive Super Smash Bros. community, has entered a sponsorship agreement with Syndicate 2016, a multi-day international European event for both Melee and Smash for Wii U and the biggest Dutch tournament to date. Smashboards will make a contribution towards the TO budget and will help promote the event through its social media network.

“As longtime members of Smashboards, we are happy to receive support from the website that our community saw its beginnings on. This will boost our means to make Syndicate the best event it can be and serves as a reminder that Smashboards truly is the home of the competitive community.”
- Syndicate TO Staff

The sponsorship is a continuation of support for the European Smash community, which has included deals with Sweden’s BEAST series and streamer GeekyGoonSquad before.

SmashEurope just released a follow-up article to last week’s global poll about the stock count for Sm4sh. Last week, a collective of European TOs launched a global poll to gather data on stock count preferences in Smash 4. The poll was spread through SmashBoards, SmashEurope, SmashAsia...

With several early 2016 majors on the horizon in both the US and Europe, the stock count in Smash 4 has once again become subject to debate. In an effort to gather more data on the various perspectives, SmashEurope has launched a global poll on the subject. Below you will find an excerpt of the accompanying article. All community members are encouraged to participate in this poll, as the results could have consequences for the way events are run in the future. As it stands, the US and Japan mostly run 2 stocks, while some US regions and Europe prefer to run 3 stocks.

The stock count in Smash Bros. for Wii U has seen a global split between Europe and the US, as well as Japan, since very early in the game’s lifespan. Most American nationals since APEX 2015 have opted for 2 stocks, which lead many US...

The following is a mirror copy of the original article by Juggleguy here, with his permission to re-post.

I’m very excited to announce that The Big House 5 is teaming up with Gamers Outreach, who will be the official charity partner of the event coming up October 2-4, 2015 in Dearborn, MI!

Gamers Outreach Foundation is a Michigan-based 501(c)(3) charity organization that provides therapy and recreation to children in hospitals using video games! One of their specific projects (piloted at Mott Children’s Hospital of Ann Arbor) includes building portable video game kiosks for kids hospitals who are in need of bedside activities. Having personally worked with the Gamers Outreach team before at Gamers for Giving earlier this year, I can say they are not only some of the best TOs...
