Meta Mastery of the Arts - Greninja Matchup Thread Archive

I've only struggled against a very good Zero Suit Samus who used stun gun and grab approaches on me, but I didn't use Shadow Sneak or Counter enough in those matches. I've also struggled against an incredibly aggressive Little Mac who basically kept me in the air. He had total ground control...

    Q&A Tips & Answers from a Passing Ninja - Greninja Q&A Thread

I've found you can get a jab combo off it at low percents from a short hop, but that's about it. I've seen some players using it to edge guard if they are recovering slightly higher than the edge, but in most cases, Hydro Pump is better for that. I tried approaching with it, and it wasn't...

Data Tracking the Ninja - Greninja Video Thread

I'm liking his Hydro Pump tech. My game can definitely benefit from his edge guarding techniques with it.

    Q&A Tips & Answers from a Passing Ninja - Greninja Q&A Thread

Is his NAir a practical approach with short hops? And for that matter, what are his best approaches?

    Laser retreat

There's a few tutorials on how to do this. I don't use it very often because its a technique that can easily be messed up, and cost you a stock if you aren't incredibly lucky. Sethlon makes good use of it from what I've seen, and some other players too, but it doesn't fit my playstyle. But...

    Stage Discussion : #3 Yoshi's Island

Pros : - The phantasm does wonders here. The stage is just short enough to maximize the IAP's potential for spacing and surprise attacks. - Upsmash goes through platforms, as does utilt if you like it enough to use it. Also, ceiling isn't too high for the upsmash works reliably for KOs. -...

Louisville KY s2d tournament a few times a monthly. 08/29/09

I live over in the Murray, KY area and I have a few friends who attend UoL. I'd love to come down and compete in some of the weekly tourneys. How many people do you guys usually draw out?

    Pit: What To Do

Thanks for the tips, but I've yet to fight him again. But he did fight one of my other friends a day or so ago and also had the same results. I'm still confused. I'll try and play more aggressively and approach with some nair to jab combos and see how that works.

What are YOUR names for character colors?

Red Falco: Ponce. (since my friends think he's pretty gay as a character, heh.) Pink and White Captain Falcon: The Pink Ranger Gold Ike: Ike for Justice!

    Pit: What To Do

I'm ashamed to say I had a horrible time with a friend of mine, who plays Pit and just camps with arrows, dodge rolls and dsmashes and he beat me. I lost my head through it, got frustrated, and just started swinging. But the match was even for awhile. Even though I reflected every single arrow...

    Need some Falco help.

(1.) You can mix up your game, as Angel said. Drop down from the ledge and do a rising double laser. Or you could just as easily roll off the ledge and get behind, drop down to a rising Nair, or just the ledge attack. Drop down to firebird in SOME situations, only as a mind game. Drop down with...

    Rate clowsui's Falco! [UPDATED]

Lasers DO NOT fix diminishing returns. And yeah, you have the rolling problem. I have the same one.

    tournament age

Age doesn't matter, its when you think you want to get in to the real game. I go to local tournaments all the time, and I'm planning to find a big tournament close to my area to hit up either by the end of this year or the beginning of the next. Its just more or less when you want to take your...

    New Falco User

You would be correct, sir, since practice can't even get you to sweetspot the knockback portion of the kick properly, or so I've found. In most situations, a back air will take of business as opposed to the up air. A bit more on topic, congrats, you officially picked up an amazing character...
