Starmie can't take hits well. Thats about it. I just prefer the playstyle that Tentacruel provides. I like to have a reliable switch-in, that can recover, to most pokemon. Starmie can't take Close Combats from Terrakion and Tentacruel can. Of course it makes it harder for Terrakion to come in...
