Yes I am well aware she was always going to be in the game irrespective of whether or not there was a ballot but I don't see why you're so sure the DLC won't end with a fan requested 3rd party character when Nintendo straight up said that's how they picked the final DLC character for Smash 4...

I have no proof of this but I suspect that Steve and Geno were originally supposed to be costumes to go alongside Banjo and Hero. They were both moved to FP2 as full characters

This kind of dispels the whole "Assist Trophies can't be upgraded because it wouldn't make sense for them to show up in battle with the same fighter" thing, doesn't it? The rest of this pass is gonna be wild, I can feel it
