I'm sorry to say that Smash Around Back is over for the foreseeable future. I am talking with people about setting up a monthly local tournament. Once I get that worked out I'll post a link to the event on this forum for anyone interested.

Yes, if Nintendo wanted to legitimize project m the creators would have to make some concessions. Some content would have to be removed or replaced. But then it becomes a choice of: keep making an illegal mod exactly the way you want while not profiting or make some changes for a legal version...
