Considering the legal hurdles and possible profit, I really don't think Sora is getting in the base game. My bet is that he'll be the first DLC.

It was on r/Kappa. On the thread where that other dude claimed Steve was coming. It's likely Verge was just playing it safe, maybe he only heard it from one source. Dude is supposedly legit and in contact with Verge, so that counts for something.

Riddle Leak says Tiger huh... I think it might be Sagat guys. Come to think of it, Minecon having a smash announcement is kinda far-fetched, or at least without precedent. Unless Nintendo is scheduled to show up there. Then all bets are off.

Verge knowing about Ken is likely to be related to how he's likely to be a semi-clone like Isabelle. I've said this here before, but Smash Ryu has a lot of important moves that Ken straight up doesn't use and Ken himself has been Luigified to the point where most of his normals are different...

I unironically wouldn't mind Goku. It's not like he doesn't have more games on Nintendo systems than most Smash reps. I don't mind 3rd party characters, as long as Nintendo fan favorites get in. Fire Emblem needs a mage rep. Personally, either Micaiah because she was one of the protags of RD...

The only thing that can make one wonder whether or not the Ken Leak is fake is that he isn't throwing Raw Tatsu in neutral, j.HK or doing wake-up DP. This is big. Got a link to the Verge post?

I feel like this is a pretty good compromise. Steve seems like an awkward to animate character. In other news, if Crono makes it, I'll scream like a little girl. Or Etika. Whoever is louder and more annoying to anything in a 20m radius.

I agree that it makes sense for a Square rep to be a much bigger reveal than Geno. However, the idea of Sora bringing in DLC money by the truckloads is hard to ignore. That wouldn't explain a lot of the secrecy around the Square rep though, so I'm betting on Sora.

I'm actually hype for the blowup for when he has nothing to show.
