Here's the info for that scenario: The environment threshold for knockback is 80. This means that knockback > 80 gets you off the ground. You get knocked down when this isn't high enough to actually send you flying. A good example is Fox's shine, which has a fixed knockback of 80, meaning it is...

Jab is 6 frames and most grabs are 7 so you have a very small window to not get grabbed after crouch canceling.

I mostly use arrows for annoying edge guarding and situations where I am retreating and I think the angle/speed as a mixup will catch them offguard. You can also full hop arrow and waveland before you hit the ground. I've only ever thought to use it as a way to put someone in enough shield stun...

I still think it's a losing matchup for Young Link, but it's one of the better matchups of the higher tiers. You have to get really good at aiming bombs though. I wouldn't recommend the full frontal assault style Axe does unless you are godly at spacing and technical ability.

That's actually and interesting question. I have often done this on accident, but I remember it working fairly well. I think the main problem would be SDI on the multi hit of Spin Attack.

You can test it out yourself in DEBUG or DEVELOPER mode with 20XX. It just sounds like you are performing the dair to late after becoming airborne. Go frame by frame and input dair on 2nd airborne frame when directly beneath to opponent.

In addition to this, I recommend working on light shielding considering WD OoS is one of the better options. The displacement from light shielding assists in escaping shield pressure.

This link has the information you are looking for. This is easiest to pull off on Yoshi's and FoD as the top platform is perfect height for full jump down air. https://www.reddit.com/r/SSBM/comments/3q5n6e/killing_early_with_young_link

Young Link Optimization Project (Current Topic: Edgeguarding Spacies)

I don't have a second person to test this out with, so it'd be great if someone can get back to me on this. If you set a bomb right near the edge, will a down angled sweet spot Firefox have a large enough, or active enough hitbox to trigger the explosion? I usually do this against Marth, but the...

    Halp with YL double bair

You can still tap jump diagonally and I don't think the aerial drift is affected much. The X axis for aerial movement doesn't change if you move from diagonal left/right to full left/right. Tap jump also buffers 3 frames which is very useful considering you only have 2-3 frames between the move...

I enjoyed participating in the smashfest Friday night. I wish I could have played more people, but I had my share of fun. You guys are crazy good at this game since I have last played. I want to get up to speed so I can prove my mettle against some smashers I know in MN. I created a Facebook...

It isn't to go against conformity. I have just yet to find a use for Facebook. If I enjoy playing with you guys I will probably make one. Otherwise it still has no use to me. Also, does JF still play often?

I don't want a Facebook account. Anyways, just add me to mailing list. I haven't seen Kal or ARC in years...be fun to play again.
