Q&A Bad Internet Ban (technical questions/fixes)

So if you play from 10:00am - 1:00pm, everyone's matches have 2 seconds of input lag, but my opponent doesn't have any at all. If you play after 1:00pm it's back to the normal online, not good but playable. What gives? What's up? Anyone else?

    Critique Super Smash Bros.

Yes, depending. It is to do with which player's switch is hosting at the time and both of your internet settings. I'll try to list it out. First to get a good game with others who have wired internet. NAT A connection type Wired connection Matches within your country etc for lowest latency...

    Critique Super Smash Bros.

LOL How bout the fact that you can force 0.5 seconds of input lag on your opponent if you're hosting the match, just by tweaking your internet settings? Thanks for the bully code nintendo. Remember, you can't have fun online, without first creating an unfair advantage for one of the players...

    Lag issue finally SOLVED!!

How lucky... 95% of my online matches are terrible now. I have played with other internet connections too, 5g, 2.4g, wired to no avail. If i didn't know any better, I'd think nintendo specifically programmed 0.5 seconds of input lag into my switch with the newest update. Ha. Obvi that isn't the...

    Lag issue finally SOLVED!!

Oh well all good things must come to an end. The new online update borked it all up again. I had been playing perfectly fine matches for almost 1 month. Not 100% but it brought back memories of how fun the game could potentially be. Alas, whatever happened with the new update has ruined online...

Q&A Bad Internet Ban (technical questions/fixes)

Nat type A and switch overheating were my issues. I finally figured it out. So now if there is still lag, it is only your opponent, location etc. Which you can easily ban/block them if they are laggy. EDIT: Oh and smash ultimate's bot code that matches you with crap connections if you quit...

    Lag issue finally SOLVED!!

Guys I have been a long time advocate of how bad the lag is in SMASH ULTIMATE, but today I have finally figured out what was actually wrong. Two things so no wonder it was hard to figure out. 1. My NAT was sometimes D and B. Nat A is the best. Do not let anyone tell you blah blah it's fine...

Q&A Bad Internet Ban (technical questions/fixes)

I think there's a way to force 15-60 frames of lag on your opponent. Hackers found some sort of bully code in the game. Certain players might use it against you while playing. Best bet is to ban players that do it. For example, try to jump from the ground, 1 second delay. Meanwhile your...

    Project Ultimate

Just wondering, is anyone working in a project m version of ultimate? Not looking to download, just wondering. Maybe the online could get recoded, input lag reduced etc.

Q&A Bad Internet Ban (technical questions/fixes)

Okay guys, you've heard it all before, so to repeat the "big lag Issue" with SSBU. Let's blast past all the normal stuff first. 1. Wired, new cat7 cables, 100mbs dl, 25mbs upload, wicked fast router, ssbu game cart, amazing monitor (no lag there), mtu 1500 (1472 - which adds for some stupid...

Can someone please explain what is happening technically

Honestly, while it is great, the cord does stick out from the bottom.

Can someone please explain what is happening technically

You can use a USB C to Ethernet adapter. It makes the fastest wired connection you can get on the switch and you can use it undocked. The input lag on the switch is low, and the response time is pretty fast, so you can get a really good connection and online experience in MOST games. I say MOST...

Can someone please explain what is happening technically

I actually find that a wired connection with the switch undocked is the worse way to play smash ultimate. I thought it would really help, with minimal lag and the best response times on the switch screen. But nah. I had a guy today move like he was literally 2x faster than the game allowed. I...

Can someone please explain what is happening technically

I should report back now after some months. I have a 1m gaming monitor, I play on that docked, and undocked I have the switch screen. These two screens have insanely low screen lag, so visually, I should be seeing the fastest pixels I can. So at worst, on par with my opponent, and at best...
