The parry that aMSa is so famous for...

You almost got it, when a yoshi is using parry to counter moves you shield, invincibility frame active, *here is where you're wrong with your sequence for parry > nair* just jump before parry frames end (not a double jump cancel) now you have the choice to do a rising nair or a double jump...

Ask VMan about Yoshi Thread (A General Yoshi Discussion)

@Pk_dnkx I did some labing myself and looked into shielding and pressing up on the c-stick, so when you described shielding and pressing the c-stick up trying to get an upsmash and it looks like a jump canceled parry to me, so I thought well what happens when you up-c during shield if you were a...

Ask VMan about Yoshi Thread (A General Yoshi Discussion)

@Pk_dnkx its easy to get parry into up-smash because you can jump cancel into it, just like how you would jump cancel grabs/up-smashes. The input is the same as any jump cancel move but all you have to do it press shield before executing it. Jump canceling the parry is extremely easy here...

    Some Yoshi Information

shield pressure update: I mentioned in a post earlier that short hop bair to up air on shield is a good option... and it's really good, I can implement it in game now granted i'm still not the most consistent at it but I assumed djc nairs would be the best option at this point but I've...

    Some Yoshi Information

up air chain: the up air chain works at 50% for fast fallers, you get 2 (guaranteed) on spacies and 3 on falcon because he is more heavy but they will most likely DI to platforms, you should mix up the ending of your up air chains with nair/upair to DI trap, use bair/fair with platforms to...

    Some Yoshi Information

Drop zone nair is really frame tight, its much safer to drop zone fair and its easier to recover from but if people are good they can meteor cancel it. If you want to drop zone nair with it being a bit more practical if the stage has platforms waveland off of one and nair, the extra height makes...

    Short Hop Egg throw

    1) If you're having trouble with short hop eggs while conserving momentum I would suggest double canceling your jump. To do this after you hop and reach the necessary height for the egg toss animation use your jump, as soon as you start the double jump DI in the direction you wish to...

    Good Yoshi Maps?

Peaches up-B sucks for vertical gains, if you get an off stage fair Peach usually dies even if they meteor cancel because the hit lag and knockback are good on that thing (assuming they are not at uber low percents). If you get the dair they usually panic and meteor cancel early (because they...

    Tech Chasing as Yoshi

I think when aMSa does the short hop to follow his down throw he is threatening tech in place/no tech with nair, if they miss he gets an edge guard, if they tech in place just do 2 djc nairs or stall your first nair with the double jump, the second one will cover tech in place as will the stall...

    Yoshi in Neutral

I watch for missed tech so I can jab reset so I can up air chain, kill, or gimp I personally don't think yoshi has a move that he can consistently wall someone out with. He dosen't have the speed to play dash dance punish for an entire match. His projectile while good is easily beaten once the...
