    Well, I haven't played the demo but now that running through characters has been confirmed not to be a thing anymore, I think I can somewhat answer your question and expand on it a little bit. As soon as we commit to SD, we then have a few options: Release ASAP; Release before full charge...

    Yes. This might have been changed in Ultimate though, just like how the meteor hitbox seems to now be active at the beginning of the attack.
