what is your ideal "4.0" lucario?

I am going to wholeheartedly disagree with this and the claim that it is fine the way it is. Keep in mind that any character in the game can grab in the middle of a combo (I don't know what you mean when you say a combo on shield), but Fox, as an example, can shield pressure you and then throw...

what is your ideal "4.0" lucario?

I now default to dash attack -> u-tilt -> dsmash, which doesn't work on floatier characters like Marth. For floatier characters, I use dash attack -> u-tilt -> u-smash -> n-air But still, taking the combo potential out of side-B is a HUGE nerf that I feel is unnecessary.

what is your ideal "4.0" lucario?

I am talking about grounded side-B.

what is your ideal "4.0" lucario?

The one thing that I want in 4.0 Lucario is his 3.5 Side-B back, without as much knockback as 3.6b. This messed up my non ASC combos so much that I now need to spam ASC repeatedly for any type of combo, something I think they were trying to tone down for this patch. Ie. In 3.5, at 0% on a Fox...

    Lucario's 3.6b hidden changes

I'm just going to reiterate the side-B nerf that he got, which is one of the most annoying changes I have experienced going from 3.5 to 3.6. I'm not sure the backroom even reads these character subforums, but I have no clue why they would increase the knockback.

Side B is considerably worse now.

I've resorted mainly to dash attack up tilt up smash JC neutral air but it never feels as good because if the JC neutral air misses you're suddenly in the air able to be juggled I just wish he got his old side B back so that he could do horizontal combos again

Side B is considerably worse now.

I remember being told that, and whether or not it is true, it still doesn't change the fact that it hurts Lucario's combo game a lot. If anything, I think he should get his old grab-release point back so that he can combo out of side-B again, even if it means not gaining aura from his side-B...

Side B is considerably worse now.

After the 3.6 patch, grounded side-B hits them too far away to have some 3.5 combos be viable. For example, in training mode on a Fox, or against a computer, try dash attack to side B to dash attack to side B in 3.5. Now try it in 3.6. Half the time, it doesn't work, because they get hit too...

    3.6 lucario discussion

Is anyone hating side-B now? It's hitting people way too far for me to follow up on. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but a pretty much guaranteed combo in 3.5 at 0% was dash attack to force palm to SH f-air to either a jab into force palm or just a force palm. However, force palm seems to hit...

    Lucario F-air 3.6 Change

That actually makes sense, because I can also no longer seem to dash attack to side-B twice on a Fox at 0% anymore because he goes too far. In any case, I think this is a pretty noticeable nerf since it was pretty much a guaranteed combo on floaties that weren't Bowser/DDD/DK sized.

    Lucario F-air 3.6 Change

Did his f-air get touched? I'm now having a lot more trouble doing side-B grab to SH f-air to (jab to) another side-B grab because f-air now seems to hit them too far or high. I now end up needing to do a running SH f-air.

    What would happen if...

I've also thought about the adjustment of where he charges it in general, such as more on top of him rather than behind him. This would give him a decent OoS option, provided the ball is big enough (I don't know if it is, I don't actually play PM competitively).

    What would happen if...

...Lucario held his Aura Sphere in front of him to charge instead of behind him. Or on top of him

Sakurai: "If we Direct Smash ONLY at The Competitive Players, It Will Have No Future."

And here lies the fundamental problem that many people are butthurt/salty over (and understandably so): Regardless of whether or not it is "childish" to get upset when you lose even though you deserve to, it creates a negative experience for that person. The objective results of this can be...

Sakurai: "If we Direct Smash ONLY at The Competitive Players, It Will Have No Future."

I think when people keep saying that a game can be fun casually and competitively, it's a bit more complicated than originally perceived. I can see where Samurai is concerned, and that it's not total BS like many people claim it is. I first noticed this when I was playing with some of my casual...
