What Echo Fighter(s) were you hoping for?

I'd take any number of echoes, but Black Shadow for Captain Falcon is still at the top of my wishlist for representatives for abandoned franchises.

    Official Newcomer/DLC Speculation Discussion

Thanks, every time I said what I said I must have been too tired to think straight, and debating with people less observant still. I'd still put it to Cress for similarity to a larger portion of the series' protagonists.

    Official Newcomer/DLC Speculation Discussion

Nandai co-developed the game and still only has Pac-Man. First four Fighter Pass entries were third-party. I vote Cress. Normally I'd say Yuri or Lloyd but Joker is the only example of a series-debut character who isn't the playable protagonist (or mascot) of the series' first game.

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

After discussing with some of my friends, we're thinking of going with some weird mishmash of full list, loser picks a few to let their opponent pick from, stage rotation by week OR limit the number of X Type that can be presented at once*. *If the loser presents three options for the winner to...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

The nice thing is, even in a worst-case scenario, there's always an F-Zero Battlefield. But yeah, I'm down for a legal Big Blue if the road is gone.

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

That's basically my only concern. But with footstools being techable, regrab timer being a thing, and the various other engine differences in Ultimate, I'd still think it needs testing instead of being banned over a fear of possible infinites.

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

A wall always creates some opportunity for techs to extend lives, but there's always tech-chasing for cases like that, regardless of the wall size. But of course, there needs to be a bit more testing in the new engine. Personally, I don't mind, but I'm the guy who keeps my friends having to...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Might be a little picky here, but while the hazard would not necessarily affect all characters simultaneously, all characters were able to be affected. If water only damages/has unique interactions (see my Pikmin statement above) for a few characters, a somewhat different review is needed...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Was Water killing non-blue Pikmin ever considered a relevant factor? Either way, permanent water is comparable to a permanent floor (damaging or otherwise) in my mind, as it significantly changes offstage play. Good bad or otherwise.

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Logistically it seems like it would require extensive prepwork on the tournament's end (or some extensive automation, doesn't easily enable walkins at smaller tournaments, and gets "harder" for players the more characters they play (especially if said characters have vastly different stage...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

So I'm new to the concept of FLiPS and am just going from your Adjusted FLiPS blurb previois (will gladly read more if available), but I'm a bit curious about the effect of it on the mental aspect of the game (momentum, learning your opponent, etc.). Essentially, (correct me if I'm wrong) round...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Without hazards I can see Garden of Hope being doubles legal, but for singles, I'm skeptical about the size - not because of runaway play or whatever (though that's a fair consideration), but because of blast zones. Stage control becomes an... interesting... concept when your stage base is 2-3x...

Your thoughts on Mii Fighters (so far)

Watching some footage from events over the weekend, outside of Spirits Mode, I've only seen Miis at a single size. Hoping the small one I saw was a Spirits trick instead of Mii size, but either way, they look neat (if not the clean-and-easy "make this legal" case I was hoping for).

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Chiming in a bit late on this, but thoughts on Fountain of Dreams not moving? I know some of its popularity before was from the mild movement, otherwise it seems like it'll enter Dream Land 64's (in 4) role of being a Battlefield Echo stage. If I recall, the options are Off, One Minute, and Random.

Your thoughts on Mii Fighters (so far)

Wording on their design from the blog is a little bit vague and can be reasonably interpreted as either the Smash4 implementation (three moves per four specials), or as getting three preset loadouts to pick from ("...three types of Mii Fighter and select from a set of three specials for each...
