An official breakdown on how ballot results were reflected in Smash would be interesting. Obviously they'd have to exclude things that -didn't- get in as well as any exact numbers but just saying "we made this spirit evolve cause people seem to like em" would be neat.

I just can't get over why companies think that changing a game to appeal to a market that is ALREADY the largest market for that game is at all a good idea. Clearly Americans were fine with the cartoony depiction of war, otherwise they wouldn't have bought the first three games in the numbers...

Actually, thinking on it, "let your imagination run wild" could just as easily mean the character is -small-, like your most wanted from an underappreciated franchise. You'd need a pretty active imagination to get your hopes up for Sgt Cortez or Quote.
